You don't have to be an aficionado to enjoy the enormous collections on display here. It's right in the heart of tourist London, at Trafalgar Square. As with all our public museums and galleries, it's totally free. Wander in and see what you fancy. Try not to miss the National Portrait Gallery next door too.

A wonderful gallery for reminding yourself of the iconic paintings and talented painters worldwide, but particularly Europe and the UK. You can sometimes catch informed talks from experts and it's worth popping in to view just one section anytime you're passing (I can never resist!).

Must see when interested in paintings. But please LOOK at the pictures and don't point your phone at them. Better for you and for everybody around you. You'll get reproductions with 1000% better quality everywhere. Live the monent, the paintings are worth it!
