I want to start off by saying the food is absolutely fine, very tasty and nicely presented.

The reason for just 3 stars is more about the staff. Again, they are very polite but the impression we got was that everyone is super 'helpful' in terms of running to you to ask how they can help, but they do this to every table, rather than sort out one thing and ask again, that they end up doing nothing.

One came to us with the menus and asked if we wanted water. We said yes to sparkling. Nothing happened for ages, chased once, nothing. No one came back to take our food order. Then we asked again (by saying we ordered sparkling water but nothing came), and the lady ran away to get us some (while we shouted if we could order food at the same time)... She came back with bottles of tap water and turned around, so we reminded her we ordered sparkling. She said 'But this is complimentary anyways, we don't charge for tap water...'.

We said we knew that but we ordered sparkling and would like to have that. At this time another waiter barged in and said he could take the order... so we ordered via him and asked again if we could have the sparkling water.

I think we saw 3 or 4 service staff up to this point....

But after that, I enjoyed the food experience very much....

As tourists we were just walking the streets and found this delightful restaurant. It was very elegant and had a great meal deal for 3 courses. We did queue for 5 minutes, but this simply suggested that it was an excellent place to eat. We were not disappointed. We firstly received a complimentary glass of bubbly for being patient enough to wait for a table. The service was prompt despite being so busy. The meals were very enjoyable and unmistakably made with their french expertise. We hadn't yet visited France on our trip, so really enjoyed a sample of what was to come, and this certainly set a high benchmark for what should come.
If you venture near this restaurant, do yourself a favour and tuck in.

We visit friends and family in the UK once a year and found this restaurant a couple of years ago - what a find! We now make sure we eat here at least once during our stay. Food is excellent (our very picky daughter always loves the chicken, potato gratin and the bread). The service is always good. Keep it up! See you next year!

Last Saturday I visited Cote Brasserie for the first time and overall had a good experience. I ordered the steak frites which was under the ‘plats rapides’ section of the menu. This meant the steak was thinly beaten out to enable it to be served quicker than other food on the menu. In fact, I timed how long it took for the steak to arrive and I was very pleased when it arrived 4 minutes and 45 seconds after I had ordered it. As a side, I ordered some creamed spinach. Both the steak and creamed spinach were delicious and a perfectly sized portion! The only criticism I have is the slow service. Although our food arrived very quickly, at various points throughout the evening we had to wait a long time for other things to arrive. For instance, we had to wait a while to receive another jug of water and eventually had to ask again. Furthermore, we had to ask again for the card machine as they seemed to have forgotten about us. Overall, despite the slow service throughout the evening, the food was lovely and the staff were friendly. I would recommend Cote Brasserie for any steak lovers :)

Saturday Lunch - A busy session. We were thoroughly delighted with our pre-matinee, a la carte, lunch. We were very well looked after by our charming and most efficient waitress - Thank You, Florina. All three courses were excellent and the wines much appreciated. I was most impressed by the way in which all the staff worked together during a very busy lunch service. Only our second visit to a "Cote" - we will be back ! :-)
