Visited tonight after driving past several times this week - wish we'd stopped sooner. The food was amazing, we were lucky it was gourmet burger night - definitely recommend them. The service was great and the food came quickly. Lovely place to go.

Local pub with delicious well coked food, had several meals here and all very good and tasty. Slightly old fashioned but rather like that with nice welcoming team

We visited for a meal one Saturday evening whilst staying in Outgate.

It’s rare that we write a negative review, however.....

The visit soon descended into farce as all the tables around us had been pre booked but it appeared the restaurant were caught totally unawares and under staffed to cope. It was like a scene from Faulty Towers with the bar 3 deep with customers waiting to order food and drinks.

After getting fed up of waiting we went to the bar to order our food and drinks. We stood for ten minutes before getting served. If there had been another restaurant in walking distance we would have walked out at this stage.

To the barman’s credit he brought the drinks over to us however the ale that was ordered we suspected wasn’t the ale that was delivered and we found that to be the case as the ale ordered had run out but the barman didn’t advise us and instead served another completely different ale without telling us.

The food did arrive promptly to our surprise however the food was bland and the two steak and ale pies resembled a school dinner.

We paid up and had a pudding each when we returned to our accommodation.

We definitely won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend visiting on our experience. Very disappointing.

Called in whilst walking over Latterbarrow, nice little pub inside with friendly landlord, we ate v tasty open prawn sandwich and a huge club baguette, drank good pint of Robinson Wizzard.
I would recommend and revisit.

After being recommended to visit this pub, We were Very Disappointed! We were told of a table available and not shown to a table, where we just sat with no menus! ! We were ignored at the table and at the bar, it appears if you are Not a Local, then expect to be ignored! We waited a good 10 mins, and then left....... Fellow travellers this is a locals pub, outsiders are not made welcome at all......
