We stayed here in a campervan for 3 nights on the last camper pitch available due to our own late booking. It was on the edge of a stream with 3 other pitches nearby, but we had a beautiful uninterrupted view of trees from the camper. Canoe hire was really easy from the campsite straight onto Windermere (£20 per boat per hour). On site shop sold useful items like maps, campervan gas and ice creams! Shower blocks good but shower temperature a little variable. Good washing up facilities. The walk to ambleside from the campsite was about 4 miles mostly on lovely tracks and through woodland. Outdoor table tennis also available. We would highly recommend

I have camped here twice, in 2016 and 2017. The site is on Lake Windermere, you can choose to camp in the woods or on a field. I choose the woods both times as it shelters you if it rains. I really enjoyed both holidays, the campsite and facilities are kept very clean; the shop is well stocked and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I will be returning as soon as the summer returns.

As a young family with a restless 3 year old boy we decided to go camping. My wife and son have never set a foot in a campsite before and I have once delivered food to friends.Having researched locations we decided Low Wray Campsite due to location and proximity to amenities.

We booked a large lakeside pitch, was very close to the toilet blocks. The next pitch campers helped us with pitching up our tent along with invaluable advise on camping specially with a young one. The views from the pitch were breathtaking and cannot be imagined unless you are there.

The whole experience has left three of us wanting for more of it, will be coming back soon.

Room tip: lake side pitches have amazing views.

A beautiful campsite, right on the lake surrounded by woodland. Great for families with food facilities and a fab little shop. The breakfasts and coffee in the morning make this extra special. Amazing location.

We stay in the Pod for the 1st week of Easter. Pods were basic but very clean with an excellent view over the lake. Highlight of our week was the wonderful staff at the boat hire company on then site. They were brilliant with our kids and made the holiday retain some very memorable moments.
Only bad note to me was that the shop was very pricey with very poor choice ie no bread all week. However, overall facilities were good with excellent showers etc.

Thanks Richard. We'll pass on your kind comments to the boat hire team. Pleased you enjoyed your stay on the campsite but sorry you missed out on the bread. Fresh baked baguettes are available from the shop every morning. Sometimes demand can outweigh supply and we sell out very quickly. However, if we run out we're always happy to bake another batch if asked.
