Many thanks Karlo46.
We stay in the Pod for the 1st week of Easter. Pods were basic but very clean with an excellent view over the lake. Highlight of our week was the wonderful staff at the boat hire company on then site. They were brilliant with our kids and made the holiday retain some very memorable moments.
Only bad note to me was that the shop was very pricey with very poor choice ie no bread all week. However, overall facilities were good with excellent showers etc.
Thanks Richard. We'll pass on your kind comments to the boat hire team. Pleased you enjoyed your stay on the campsite but sorry you missed out on the bread. Fresh baked baguettes are available from the shop every morning. Sometimes demand can outweigh supply and we sell out very quickly. However, if we run out we're always happy to bake another batch if asked.
Great place to stay very peaceful and beautiful. Lots of different accommodation options available and very well spaced out so your not on top of everyone. Price is reasonable too and there have a little cabin shop for nicknacks can’t fault it at all.
We're pleased you enjoyed your stay Richard. Thanks for your kind words. Much appreciated.
Wife and myself stayed here ideal for children lots to do to keep them entertained we camped the weather not to bad the shower block can get a bit muddy when it rains. Its not a five star campsite its a place where all family can enjoy the holiday . loads of walking paths. the shop is not to bad a bit expensive you can order bacon rolls and pasties in the morning. the site is great for walking. cycling. canoeing . the castle a short walk away is a must.
My son, daughter and I (Dad) have stayed here or in Great Langdale every year for the past ten years. Surprisingly we can't fault it!
First went when they were 5 & 7 now 15 and 17 and there are still new things to do and new places to go.
Low Wray is great for cycling, walking, canoeing or just visiting the castle and Ambleside.
PS sometimes it rains.
The rating reflex the weather. This is the third time I have been to Low Ray. We camped and had good weather and it was a lovely site.
We had a pod for a few days this half term, the rest of the family camped. The pod kept us dry and there was no electricity and dogs were not allowed. It was clean and tidy it very basic. The campsite was extremely wet. It rained most of the time. We were quite away from the block for toilets and other facilities.
The shower block and toilets were good. There was a small drying room, which of course was well used.
Reception were very helpful and you could get early morning coffee and rolls.
