It's been a year since I first reviewed this great addition to Ramsgate's seafront. We are always happy with food and service here and it is wonderful that Wetherspoons invested in Ramsgate and did the old Casino proud. Unfortunately, the beauty of inside the pub is lost on us as we take our dog to the seaside. We are therefore always having to eat at the few smokers tables right on the beachside at the back of the pub (outside). When I last wrote I made a plea to Wetherspoons to please make this area more attractive. It is strangely barren when so much effort is invested in the rest of the pub. It just needs a few large heavy plants or some colour, but it remains the only unattractive part of this pub. You do however have wonderful views of the beach. Just a few relatively cheap adjustments outside would really lift this side of the pub/beach and complete this wonderful building. (Also make us dog owners feel less like outcasts!!)

A once dilapidated building, the detailed restoration work taken on this old Victorian building is simply stunning. Apparently the biggest in the country. JD Wetherspoons is always good value for money but worth a visit even if only for the refurb and beautiful views.
Staff very courteous and friendly.

Huge pub, but great ambiance, great food, good seating, inside and out. Friendly staff. Good pricing. No complaints.

Had a lovely lunch sitting outside for the 1st time on a beautiful hot sunny day overlooking the beach, really nice food and service was great, however it was spoilt by the scrounging seagulls that were knocking over left over plates and glasses smashing them on the floor, we had to move as I am frightened of birds, it wouldn’t cost much to put a couple of bird scarer flags like they have at the pavilion in broadstairs, rather that customer being swooped at.

The choice of food is ample, delivery was quick and the food was lovely. But if you have anyone who requires a disabled toilet, ensure you leave enough time to get to the lowest level and grab the radar key. I am extremely disappointed with Wetherspoons for not consulting with a disabilities advisor concerning the upper floor allegedly disabled toilet. Firstly, my husband had to escort two wheelchairs into the ladies main toilet area, to circumnavigate the doors, which we were unable to open. He got reported for being in there, even though a wheelchair was in full view. Then the toilet is so small you cannot shut the door, it only closed half way. There are no appropriate grab rails and the toilet is far too low. This means if you want to enjoy the top sunny terrace, you have to leave enough time to go around the bar towards the lifts, go down two floors, go back around the bar and ask a member of staff for a radar key to access the toilet. Inside this enormous room, the toilet has a full set of grab rails, which is a huge bonus. It also has a hoist and an adult size changing bed.
