we come to this hotel usually around 3 times a year but we have found the last experience not quite as good.firstly they seem to have a lot of different staff who dont seem as happy.reception has minimal staff which can result in waiting a while which we did.however the room was excellent, spa area was great with nice staff.prices at the bar are as usual expensive and there wasn't a bar price list and the bar person didnt know why either so we didnt know how much our drinks were going to cost.food at the restaurant was of high quality and was very tasty.the staff were polite and helpful(jaquie and emily).breakfast was laid out differently but there was enough essentials there.overall the hotel is still very good but there just seems like we notice some cut backs this time round.its just a usual efficiency thing i suppose.

Dear r p,

Thank you for reviewing your recent stay, I'm sorry that you felt there had been cut backs this time around, but pleased to see that you rated us 4 out of 5 overall.

Indeed we have now launched a new Breakfast offering for our customers to offer a greater choice.

I hope that we'll see you again soon

Kind Regards

My wife and I recently stayed at the Bridgewood Manor for a Ladies Festival weekend. Generally the rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff polite and friendly, albeit scarce at times. However, think twice about attending a function or even staying here on a weekend. As one of the event organisers, I was very disappointed due to poor planning and co-ordination by the hotel management. There are several function rooms of different sizes. If the majority are all in use this appears to put excess pressure on the kitchens and staff. Breakfast the first morning was a disaster. The Stratford Suit adjoining the restaurant, which was used as an extension to the restaurant the following morning, was being used for another small ‘function’, meaning long queues for the main restaurant. Several ate their breakfast in the bar area but even then after long queues for the breakfast buffet. There was little to no monitoring of the breakfast buffet with main items such as eggs and bacon constantly running out. Many items, when they did arrive, were noticeably undercooked due to being rushed. There was also a shortage of plates and bread for the toaster. When the bread did eventually turn up the slices were too big to fit the toaster! I also had a pot of the weakest coffee I can remember. The next morning’s breakfast was a huge improvement due to the additional Stratford Suit area, more food and sadly, reduced numbers as some guests didn’t bother to try breakfast a second time.

I have stayed at this hotel twice recently, the staff are exceptional, professional, friendly and helpful.

I realise when booking, you are told about weddings and private functions taking place during the duration of the stay, however, when relaxing in the bar it is really intrusive when a huge volume of people come into the bar from their allocated venue, I didn't enjoy this.

I was booked in for a facial at 11am and had to be there at 10:50, I was not taken for my facial until 11.05, was given the treatment, I was a little upset that no gown or slippers were given to me prior to my treatment, and after treatment enquired to whether they had a relaxation room, to be told they didn't. I felt this took away part of the spa experience.
I have stayed at the Ashford international hotel in the past and enjoyed the spa experience due to having the relaxation room prior to the treatment and after the treatment. Also if the Ashford international hotel had additional private functions I was not aware of this during my stay.

Overall, I would give the staff 5/5 for all of their hard work, standards of work and friendliness

Dear Moira S,

Thank you for taking time to review your visit. It is unfortunate that we do not have a purpose built post-treatment relaxation space and I can only apologise you felt that other guests impacted the enjoyment of our cosy public lounge area.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for rating the cleanliness and service during your stay 5 out of 5.

Kind Regards

We spent three nights here over the last weekend in October and it was a great success. The rooms were comfortable, the staff friendly and attentive and we all enjoyed the breakfasts. The children were made to feel very welcome and particularly enjoyed the swimming pool We appreciated the location of the hotel which is well-placed for all the attractions of Rochester and Chatham including the Historic Dockyard.
I have one grumble, which is not the fault of the hotel itself but of the QHotels admin systems. I had a couple of issues with the website when I booked and there was a glitch in the system when my daughter checked out. It was brief and courteously handled but irritating and should never have happened.

Comfortable Hotel with nice spa facility. Breakfast was nice but waiting staff were excellent, extremely attentive & very polite.
Very convenient for motorway access between London & the coast, also within a stones throw of Historic Rochester & its Chales Dickens links.
