Hotel is conveniently situated to Southampton, and Hampshire cricket grounds. This allows you to leave your car at the hotel and jump on the number 14 Blue star bus - bus stop at the back of the hotel - download the app - return bus to the city centre and back is £4 - a bargain and only a 30 minute ride!

Check in was painless and the hotel was generally clean.

The bedroom is looking tired with clearly worn furniture and decor in need of some tlc, in particular the erm lighting is not bright enough at night. During the day, curtains need to be left open.

During the day there is a limited offering of food - had soup and a salad and it was pretty good.

The main restaurant opens from 6pm - as with other Holiday Inn reviews I’m not sure if this is a proper kichen or just a defrost / microwave operation. Tried the peri peri chicken - looked fine on arrival but someone forgot to peri peri the chicken. partner had the gammon steak - again fairly average. Also shared the nachos dish, but by the time we tried to eat it, the cheese had transformed the offering into a solid nachos football.

Would I stay here again?

Yes, but I would find another place to have lunch and dinner,

Booked as part of Peppa Pig Experience. Family of 3…. Arrived around 6pm, plenty of parking (free). Quickly dealt with at reception and stayed on the 2nd floor. Rooms are dated but had no issues at all. Aircon in rooms.

Breakfast was good, we went about 9.30am it was relatively quiet. Lots of kids which made us feel at ease with our little one.

Very close to a retail park with M&S and Sainsburys, great location. It was also a 15 minute drive from Paultons Park.

1 night stay as attending a funeral nearby mid morning.

As most have said Car Park full although I just found a space.

Check in fairly busy, seems popular with cruise parties and families off to Peppa Pig World , it seemed the lad on reception didn’t have a reservation in my name, after admitting he was looking in the wrong place left me to fill in details of somebody else’s booking! I think he’d had a long day and wanted to go home.

Room was rather tired looking, carpet was covered in stains , by some way the worst of the half a dozen or so of this chain I’ve stayed in. Bed was comfortable enough and decent sleep until the fire alarm went off at about 6.30am , I wanted an alarm call anyway but would have preferred it an hour later.

Breakfast standard HI Express, staff at breakfast pleasant, usual choice , excellent coffee the highlight.

I only paid £51 for the stay including the breakfast, so can’t really complain at the price , though would probably stay elsewhere and pay a little more..
