Arrived after a long coach journey from Newcastle and stayed overnight on our way to Jersey. Room felt grubby and two singles ordered turned out to be a double and a rickety settee bed. very little room between and i bruised my toes on frame of sofa bed. Evening meal supplied was appalling. Sticky tables and poor quality food. After travelling almost the whole length of the country lukewarm soup, fishcakes, incinerated chicken slices, fries and cold mixed vegetables was not what I was looking forward to. We left at 4am next day and I certainly will not return. Fortunatel the Holiday Inn Express we stayed in on our return journey was just the opposite and was a pleasure to stay in.

Sadly the waiti in the restaurant was 1hour 20 minutes. Offered local pubs,but as car park at hotel was full,we would have had to park miles away when we returned…….husband diabetic so need to eat promptly this was explained to staff,with no help….

We stayed here with a stay and park (eight nights) deal with a night at the hotel, parking do right nights and taxi transfer to and from the cruise port. There is a bar and a restaurant at the hotel. The restaurant has fair prices for being at a hotel and the food we ordered was tasty.

Location: Fairly close to the M27 and within easy walking distance of the cricket grounds. There is plenty of parking available. There is a retail park less than a five minute drive away.

Room: We were upgraded to a larger king room. The room was very large, the king bed was firm but not overly uncomfortable, the TV has Freeview channels, the bathroom is also fairly large and has a shower. The water pressure was fairly good. Both the room and the bathroom were clean. There is individually controlled heating and air conditioning in the room which is somewhat unusual for the UK.

Breakfast: The complimentary breakfast is ok. There are a few different hot items and a larger selection of cold items.

Overall: We liked our stay here and the parking package was extremely good value for money. We will stay again for our next cruise.
