Description: A 400 year old hunting lodge set on Minchinhampton Common in the Cotswolds, The Old Lodge restaurant provides a fairytale setting in which to dine. Built in traditional mellow Cotswold stone, The Old Lodge, at one time a hunting lodge owned by Henry VIII, is surrounded by beautiful manicured lawns ideal for summer time al fresco dining while the interior avoids clich, with traditionalism eschewed in favour of understated contemporary style. So while original old beams and pillars might remain the overwhelming impression is of a thoroughly modern restaurant with a sparkling, lively atmosphere. Views of the common meanwhile are enjoyed through vast floor to ceiling windows. The Old Lodge kitchen combines impeccable sourcing with stunning presentation to create a cuisine as beautiful as the restaurant itself. With most ingredients purchased locally, dishes are naturally imbued with a British flavour despite a thoroughly cosmopolitan influence from Europes most noted culinary nations.

Food, ambience, service and atmosphere all wonderful and very welcoming. The bar staff are very attentive but not intrusive.

Popped in for a mid week girlie lunch. Great food, great service (could have been a little quicker), very friendly. Plenty of seating and plenty of choice of food. Great all round.

Having walked across the common a number of times & having just moved to the area a little over a year ago, I have never popped into the old lodge. Sunday was my first visit. Excellent from start to finish, best roast I've had in a long time. Service was spot on, nothing was too much trouble for them. Having booked it was a good choice as they were fully booked. 10/10

We had an excellent dinner with very friendly staff. They are all very accommodating and couldn’t do enough for us. There was a slight mix up with the bill which was put right over the phone very quickly. Highly recommended.

We were visiting friends of ours in Minchinhampton when they recommended The Old Lodge to us for dinner. We sat in the bar area where the ambience was buzzing and the place seemed busy. No matter though as the service was excellent and the food was high quality.
