Description: Harry Ramsden's serve the same great quality fish and chips today that they have been since 1928. The brand was established 80 years ago, when Harry Ramsden opened his first takeaway store in a hut in Guiseley. His top-quality fish and chips brought people from near and far and it wasn't long before Harry's became the most famous fish and chip shop brand in the world. The fish is freshly prepared in Harry's kitchens daily and has that distinctive flavour revered the world over. The menu includes the world-famous battered fish with its closely guarded secret recipe, as well as an extensive choice of mouth-watering options and a fantastic children's menu, to satisfy all the family. There are 8 Harry's restaurants across the United Kingdom, from seaside locations such as Blackpool and Bournemouth to city centre restaurants in Southampton and Glasgow, so you're never far from a Harry's.

Cannot comment on the entire menu however the fish and chips on which the restaurant seemed to boast was quite average. The double fried chips were not fried fresh and the fish batter was just average. The fish was very fresh though. I expected more for all the big billboards flaunting best fish and chips!
Being a seafood restaurant, the kids menu had only fish item, and it wasn’t a lot of fish either in it.

I was really looking forward to visiting the famous fish and chip restaurant, unfortunately the experience did not live up to its reputation.

The good things : the views were brilliant, the waiter was friendly and the fish was good.

The rest... The chips were lukewarm. The halloumi burger was mediocre and had unmentioned additions (as someone with allergies, this is a concern). Part of our order was missed out and we were initially charged for it.

In short.. Very disappointing and does not live up to its reputation.

Prepare for a long wait. Not on the ball keeping the stock levels up. Staff like to stand around chatting before serving their customers. What a bad image for a British institution

Having given Harry Ramsdens a bad review in 2015 I decided to give it another try and am so glad I did. The fish and chips were piping hot and delicious, loved the huge pot of excellent strong tea. All the staff charming and service very efficient. Could not fault it in any way and will definitely return. Thank you HR for a lovely experience overlooking the beautiful Bournemouth beach

I vivsted this restaurant last night arriving just before 8pm with friends from Germany who wanted the best fish and chips and chips in town. Well if this is the best then i suggest we go to Poole next time.

Fish was OK, but batter not very crisp. Mushy peas were cold as were the chips. Nothing seemed to be freshly cooked but were just taken from a “hot tray”. We asked for additional chips and they too were cold and soft.

I did not raise this as i was busy talking with my friends but i shall not be going back, or recommending it to anyone else.
