Description: A little taste of heaven in a beautiful part of Devon! Angels is a perfect place for Devonshire Cream Tea looking onto the seafront in Babbacombe. Very popular with the locals and recommended to holiday makers.

Can't fault Angels on either their service or the lovely food that we had here... The breakfast was of a really high standard & although not the cheapest around, the quality made it good value. The cream tea was the best I've had... Inside is quirky & pretty & the garden (where we had a table) was lovely. Unfortunately (no reflection on Angels), we had the misfortune to be sat next to two women, both of whom had dogs & who were struggling to get them to settle & one of whom had a little boy with her... Being grandparent's to 11 grandchildren we aren't anti in any way & although this little boy was a bit noisy, he was well behaved... It's a pity his mother wasn't!! From the outset, she was a space invader... in an attempt to control her dog, between her legs, she sat so far back from her own table that she was virtually on my husbands lap... and her long scruffy hair was about 4 or 5 inches away from his plate. Because she had encroached on our space, or it may be because of her overly loud mouth, her conversation was clearly audible & we were treated to a full & graphic description of her gynae/obstetric history & problems... graphic descriptions of the contents of her son's nose, followed by a description of her child vomiting on her sofa. At this point we decided to very politely point out that we were eating & not keen to listen to her conversation... She became angry, started "f'ing" at us( in front of her little boy) & then in some feeble & juvenile attempt to cause further offence, decided to loudly comment on the contents of her childs nappy... Her excuse for her behaviour "because we're nurses"... Even her friend was embarrassed by her... The only explanation for her behaviour & for spoiling our visit to Angels, was because she's a foul mouthed, inconsiderate gob, who has no respect for other people. Angels staff were very apologetic...

We were staying with friends in Babbacombe and six of us went to Angels for breakfast. We had been before a couple of years ago and enjoyed it then. The food was excellent. We all had full breakfasts and tea or coffee. We had one youngster who had the Cherubs breakfast and we had the middle one called I think Angels. The waiters were very helpful and nothing was too much for them.We booked a table in advance as it can get very busy here. This is not the place to go for a cheap breakfast, but it is good quality and very good service.

This lovely restaurant is situated on the cliff top at Babbacombe opposite the Green. It has inside and outside seating. The restaurant has a nice ambience and everything is well presented. The staff are friendly and efficient. There is a wide range of delicious food and drink on offer at reasonable prices. The wide variety of cream teas are out of this world. The best we have tasted for some time. The portions are large and the quality amazing. It was nice to sample loose leaf tea again. Highly recommended.

Having passing here a few times we decided to give it a chance. We got lucky as we didn't book a table, but was shown to a table right away. We both had the Angles tea... which comprised of sandwiches, two scones with preserves and clotted cream and a pot of tea. I'd suggest you go there hungry as the portions are huge. Very tasty scones. The young man that served us was excellent ( sorry don't know his name ) very polite. He even said if we couldn't eat it all he could wrap it for us to take away with us. That was everything he even potted up the preserves and clotted cream for us. Thank you Angels for a lovely afternoon tea. Would definitely recommend this little gem.
