We thoroughly enjoyed our few days at The Imperial and likened the place to a much loved, rather aged great aunt! Yes, the building is in need of some renovation in places but that’s a very costly business and times have never been harder for the hospitality industry so we can forgive such shortfalls. The Imperial makes the most of it’s strengths, one of which is the fabulous location. The views across Tor Bay from most of the public areas are truly stunning! The hotel is also a short walk from both the harbour and the town centre making this an excellent location all round. Check in was efficient and the now ubiquitous Covid-19 measures seemed to be mostly in place. I say mostly because some guests were not wearing face coverings when walking around the building and perhaps that should be ‘enforced’ a tad more rigorously. That said, individuals should accept responsibility themselves and do the right thing. We were upgraded to a sea view suite ...again those amazing views! There was no access to the balcony for maintenance / health & safety reasons but this is made clear on the hotel’s website and not something to gripe about as I have seen others do so.
