Stayed for one night when in Newquay. It was so hot in the room, there was a fan provided but it didn't make a difference. There was only air con in the communal areas. It meant a hot sticky night trying to sleep. Couldn't open a window as the room faced onto the main street and the traffic noise which comes with that.

Staff were friendly, check in and check out easy, breakfast was good. Location is great, opposite the train station and close to the town centre and by the beach.

I would stay again if in the area but possibly not during a heat wave! Luckily that doesn't happen often in the UK!

This travelodge is brilliant for being central to everything in Newquay, however, the rooms are far far too hot! We visited as the mini heatwave hit UK (by mini I mean it was 24c on average to not actually that hot) and our room was unbearably hot. The windows open out from the bottom meaning very little air gets into the room and there is only a fan which you can’t feel the benefit of unless standing right in front of it. The staff took initiative to only have a bed sheet on the bed rather than a duvet which was much appreciated but Travelodge definitely need to invest in air con in their rooms - especially those that are down south on the coast, a little fan does not do the job to keep rooms cool. Not sure how we survived 3 nights! Would stay again as the hotel itself is clean and staff are friendly but maybe not in the height of summer.

Me and my brother decided to spend an extra day in Newquay as we were there for a surf lesson.
We decided on the Travelodge, as it was close to Towan Beach, and within easy access to the High Street.
We popped in to ask what the rate of the hotel was, and the woman on the desk said approx £90, but mentioned that if you book online, or over the phone, it's 10% cheaper. Very helpful.
Booked online, Family room (Double bed & x2 singles, pushed together to make another double bed) for £82.50. Not bad. Approx £40 between us both.
I also threw in the £3 WiFi pass for 24hr access, just in case we needed it. Better than the 30 mins free WiFi anyway.
Arrived at the hotel around 6:30pm that evening, checking in was straight-forward, up the lift (option of stairs too), as our room was on the 2nd floor. There's only 2 floors in this hotel anyway, so that was fortunate. Reception is Ground Floor; Bar / Cafe is on Floor 1, for reference.
Walked in Room 230, instant WOW on our faces. Sea View! We didn't mind the Aldi car park directly beneath us, or the rusty old safe behind the fences. Beach, Marina and Sea View beat anything!
Couldn't believe our luck for the cost. Plus, the sun sets over the sea, and we could see it from our room, which made it extra special!
Checking out the next day was very easy; friendly staff. Will miss that sea view and hearing the ocean during the night. Thanks Travelodge!

Additional info:
Room layout: Toilet, Shower (affixed above Bath) & Sink in a tiny corner with bright red tiles.
Double bed on the left, with lights (brother had this bed for the night); TV opposite.
x2 Twin beds pushed together at the end, facing away from the gigantic window pane, easily move-able; Wooden table with Kettle, condiments, etc. Charging plugs too for electrical items.

Car Parking: £11 all day at Newquay Train Station (opposite hotel). Note: this car park is small, so getting there early helps secure a spot. Or park at Fistral Beach (£7 all day) but it's a 20 min walk to the hotel.

Proximity to shops: Very good. Weatherspoons & Griffin Inn pubs nearby.
High Street is a gradual downhill walk to the Central / Socho pubs, Cinema is here too.
Fistral Beach is about a 15 min walk from the hotel; Towan is about 3min, and Great Western is approx 6mins.

Supermarkets nearby? Yes. Travelodge sits above an Aldi; over the road is a Asda; Tesco Express and Sainsbury's is towards Fistral Beach.

Stayed in this Travelodge for one night ...staff friendly.... unfortunately the bedding was filthy the beds made up with sheets due to hot weather .....duvets are placed in a blue bag on top of the hanging shelf ....when I got the duvet out it was covered in the previous guests dirt which was not pleasant....it's was quite late so I didn't speak to the reception and slept just under the sheet which resulted in a cold night sleep ..... The spare bed also has a huge stain on it ...... Spoke to reception this morning who apologised but sorry this is below standard and won't be staying at this Travelodge again !
