A wonderful cathedral to visit. The history soaks out of the walls, and you would need two or three visits to really take it all in. Very interesting to read about the early Catholic beginnings and their influence on the building and the town of Ely. Lovely grounds, and a very pleasant tea-room. If you have time, take a walk down to the river afterwards. It is glorious!
