This is the worst hotel restaurant I have ever been unfortunate enough to frequent !

On a business trip over the course of a few days I had the odious task of picking my way through the hotel’s menu.

If the food wasn’t fried, it was surely microwaved, incompetent cooking, or just plain careless, I know not which !

I had occasion to send multiple dishes back to the kitchen, which often came back with exactly the same fault.

Avoid, avoid, avoid !!!!!

Many thanks for posting your review David, we are very disappointed to read your feedback in particular, as we do offer a fairly extensive food offering including our weekly menu produced by our Head Chef and generally this offer is well received by the majority of our guests. Furthermore, I was also sorry to learn that you felt the need to return multiple dishes back to the kitchen, please accept my sincere apologies. Although, I am currently only aware of one recent situation in the Gourmet Bar & Restaurant whereby, a guest was unhappy with the way the steak had been cooked as it was not to their liking, I believe that this particular dish was returned to the kitchen twice whereby each time a fresh steak was offered and by the third time the guest was overall happy with their meal. Please rest assured that all the team at Novotel Bristol Centre are available 24/7 and I would have been more than happy to discuss your concerns during your stay had you giving us the opportunity. This hotel is located 10 minutes walk from the City Centre. There is a private car park and the reception is open 24/7. People are kind, service is great. Breakfast is good. There is free Wifi and the rooms are clean. What else do we need?

I have stayed here a lot, as I am working in Bristol at the moment, as with our corporate rate, its good quality at a reasonable business rate.

The staff are always friendly on check in, and in the breakfast area in the morning. The rooms are very clean, but are beginning to show their age, they are a bit frayed around the edges. What I do like however is that when you switch the room light on you can actually see what you are doing. I have been to so many hotels in recent years where there are lots of lights to switch on, but you still cannot see anything

The rooms are big and pretty quiet, the aircon/heating works without too much noise, the bath/shower is OK, its got quite a good gym with sauna and steam room, and an underground car park, so it ticks most of the boxes.

Breakfast is good, with a good choice of hot/cold/healthy food, I have never eaten there is the evening, so I cannot comment on the restaurant food.

Its not the most stylish hotel I have ever stayed in, but it does the job.

Room tip: Rooms on the front mean you can get traffic noise, so I tend to go for a room at the back, but its not a big deal.

Good standard hotel in a great location. Staff were pleasant enough. Room cleanliness wasn't up to scratch. Dusty, hairs left behind and floors not mipped. Surprised at this price point that the cleaning regime wasn't good enough....

Had a 2 night stay last weekend of October, in Bristol for a family celebration. Location wise very good, 5 mins from Temple Mead station where we came into, and 10 mins to the 'old' town and waterside. Been to Bristol many times so knew the location would be good. Booked up using Tesco vouchers converted to Hotels.com voucher, only had to pay £30 for the taxes & fees so was more than happy. Rooms are basic/fine and do the job, was at the back of the hotel so nice and quiet. Although bathroom water could've been hotter (shower temp fine but lacked pressure). Didn't have breakfast as wanted to get out & about. Only negative was that on first night had a call at 1:45AM(!!!) from reception saying they owed us money for food we'd bought (which we hadn't). Maybe a note under the door would've been better. Overall though was a good stay.
