We stayed here for 3 nights whilst we explored Bristol and this hotel is in a fab location, right in the docks, you just wander over the little bridge to be at all the bars and restaurants. You can walk to anywhere in Bristol from here including shopping centres, the town centre etc. It has a car park next door where you get a brilliant rate, I think it was £5 for our entire stay!

We had a deluxe room overlooking the water and the docks area. It had very good double glazing, the docks is a party area and extremely noisy until the early hours. We could just about hear the music through the double glazing but certainly not enough to disturb us. The room was quite small but had a nice big comfy bed with feather bedding. There were nice big towels and large sizes of good quality toiletries too. The room was very clean and we were given fresh bottled water and shortbread every day. There was also a Nespresso machine in the room as well as the kettle.

Breakfast was good and it gets very very busy but we were warned about this. When there are too many guests for the dining room, they open up a conference room and put a second buffet in there so it is very well-managed. Other hotels would just let you queue. Sometimes they did run out of food on the buffet, they do need to replenish a little bit quicker sometimes.

Part of our package (very good value) included a bottle of Prosecco. It took 2 hours and 3 phone calls to get this delivered to our room, which was very frustrating.

One day we returned from wandering around the city at 4:15 for a rest but our room hadn't been made up. Seeing the maid in the corridor, we asked if she could do our room next but she said she had to do them in order and did an empty room first (we knew it was empty as nobody answered her knocking). So we had to go and sit in reception for 40 minutes until our room was done, which was rather irritating when we wanted a rest and a cup of tea.

All the staff we encountered were nice, reception staff were lovely. All in all, this hotel is great value and in a brilliant location, if I was coming back to Bristol, I would definitely stay here again.

Dear beachlover-8899,

Thank you for sharing such a detailed and overall positive about the Bristol.

We are delighted to read how much you enjoyed the location, the convenient parking facilities and the service of our team at The Bristol.

It is only through feedback such as yours that we are able to maintain and indeed, where necessary, improve upon the service we provide daily. I am truly sorry about the inconvenience regarding the delay in delivering the Prosecco and the lateness of servicing your room. In the future, please let our Reception team know what time you would like your room to be serviced, so we can ensure it gets done at your preferred time.

Furthermore, it is fantastic to read that you enjoy our brand new towels as well as our Temple Spa Amenities.

We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future,

Kind regards

Recently returned from a round trip staying at several hotels. Got home to find I had lost a pair of prescription sunglasses. I e mailed them all to ask if they had found any. The Bristol replied the following day to say they had them and posted them back to me straight away. Apart from being a very nice hotel this level of service is exemplary.

Room tip: Overlooking the harbour is best

I visited The Bristol recently along with some members of my family.
My wife had booked it over the phone as a surprise birthday gift for me.
She said the staff could not have been more helpful when she booked as she is not use to doing that sort of thing.
We arrived around 9pm on a Friday and the reception staff recommended some independent places to eat, could not not have been more helpful.
They where always on hand to help with recommendations of places to visit.
If fact the every member of the staff we spoke to 'sold' Bristol promoting local produce, restaurants and area.

This hotel is ideally located for the old centre of Bristol. There are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby, as is the theatre.
The rooms are refurbed and very nice (the shower in particular was fab!) if a little on the small side. The bar is great and had some novel but brilliant predinner cocktails! Breakfast was also good with a really good selection of gluten free options.
Overnight parking in the adjoined NCP is good value and secure also.

Dear Colin Tall,

It's clear that from start to finish your recent stay with us at The Bristol, and your exploration of the city sights, on our doorstep, were thoroughly enjoyed.

The Bar Team - and in particular Edyta - are always inventing and innovating when it comes to their weekly cocktail, and they will be over the moon to receive your appreciation of their creativity.

Thank you kindly for your excellent 5 star review - I'm sure we will be seeing you all returning soon.
