I booked a double room ensuite. At the time of booking I noted that there were no staff on the premises but was advised that we would receive an email with booking confirmation and details of our room. This was never received. We arrived at 9.15pm on the date of our booking. The front door was wide open and as we walked into the entrance hall we heard loud music and many voices. We entered the communal kitchen to be confronted by a group of foreign people who did not speak much English. We asked them if they knew which room we were allocated, but their simply directed to us a telephone number for offsite housekeeping. We called this number several times, not answer. We left voicemails, still not response, no call back. We then decided to explore the property to see if we could locate our room. The rooms on the first floor were all locked and the when we went to the second floor, it was littered with bags/suitcases and damp towels. It was total chaos. We went back to the car and after trying the telephone number for a further 15 minutes we eventually contacted the housekeeper who apologised, but advised that the rooms often were double booked but there was nothing she could do. She advised us that the rooms are unlocked and the keys to the rooms are inside. We actually means that if someone arrives before you, that can take and lock you room and you have no recourse to move to them. We were therefore left at 9.30pm on a bank holiday weekend with nowhere to sleep!
The property looked lovely, but despite making and prepaying for a booking you are clearly not guaranteed a room to sleep in. It appears to be a first come, first served free for all. Disgraceful service and customer care. Avoid at all costs.

Room Tip: Avoid at all costs - rooms not guaranteed despite prepayment being taken.
