We chose The Plough for a midweek three-day trip to the area and from the minute we arrived were impressed by how attentive and thoughtful the staff were.
The room was quiet, attractively decorated and spotlessly clean, and the bed extremely comfortable. The coffee machine was a bit of a faff, but other than that, all the facilities were excellent.
We had intended to eat at The Plough only on our first evening and had chosen a couple of other places to try for our other two evenings, but the menu was interesting, the food delicious and the service excellent, so we quickly decided to eat there every night. All the food was wonderful, but the meal I will remember for a long time was the lamb. It was succulent, tender and absolutely beautiful.
The Plough is perfectly located for the south lakes and we hope to return one day to explore the area more.More
