..a nice example of italian craftmanship.., but the visit rather limited! the guide was very kind and the explanation clear. Worth the visit..what they could do 500years ago..

Thank Luigi B

We were in Vignola in the evening on the day that palazzo is closed (open only on weekend). We asked in the cafe across the yard and the woman called someone on her cell phone. 15 min later we had our wonderful private guide Sr. Uber ( I hope I spelled it right) arriving to give us a tour in English with plethora of historical details and very emotional artistic description. We had opportunity to see restored rooms and unique staircase and take fantastic pictures. The cost of admission is 2 euro and you can buy postcards with the famous stairway pictures. Thank you Mr.Uber

The staircase is stunning, and the history of the palace is really interesting. The guided tour was in Italian, but we have learned enough to understand most of what was said - not sure if they offer the tour in other languages. From the outside the palace doesn't look like much, but it's worth the few Euro to take the tour and see the place. Of course the famous staircase is the focal point - I could have spent a lot more time there taking pictures! How he was able to design it is still a mystery, and the paint and style of it is positively beautiful. Just check the hours as they are limited - only open specific times and only on Saturday and Sunday.
