We attended a bridge workshop. The resort did a great job. The facilities seem all new and modern and the food was excellent. It does have the feel of Ontario cottage country which we found charming. Probably wouldn't go in the summer because of the children.

The resort is old and needs some updating; however, the food was very disappointing. Most of it had no flavour, particularly the soup. And no butter on the toast? Definitely not a four star resort. Food was often cold. Huge mix up in bills - so if we weren't on top of the expenses, would have ended up paying a lot more. Very expensive - particularly for this time of year. Very disappointing.

The staff here are great, they all take a lot of pride in their job and are really committed to helping guests have the best time possible. Our room was cozy but tiny. We were 2 adults, and 2 kids, one of them an infant, we also had a crib in the room and a stroller.. Only one dresser with three drawers, so we couldn't fully unpack, and the closest was too small to store our suitcase.

Overall, this place needs a refreshing, it's a bit dated, but not bad. However, the pool, hot tub, steam & sauna area needs a complete overhaul.

To the people complaining about the food, get over yourselves. They don't serve your food cold, certainly not any colder than delivered food. The food is good, and abundant. and it's on a par with any mid-priced restaurant. Trust me when I say anyone and everyone who eats here is eating better than they ever ate at home.

The options for activities and events is immense, There is something for everyone. I'm definitely coming back here again. The views of the lake are spectacular.

Room tip: choose the Edgewater cabins, they're well located to everything, and you get a little patio with a view of the lake

Stayed over March break with my adult children and their children, we had a good time and there was plenty of activities available but the resort needs alot of TLC to make it worth the cost of staying.
The staff we very nice but there is a problem when it comes to the dinning room, alot (not all) of the servers are not confident in what they do which leads me to not be confident that they were doing a good job.
We were in a cabin at the very edge of the property and the Wi Fi was spotty to say the least.
They advertise as a 3 star resort but the prices are 5 star we could of gone to a resort in the Caribbean for less.
Having said that we did have a fun time and it was nice being with the family.
They really do need to spend some of the money they get on improving the facilities.

Spent Christmas, 2 nights at the Resort.
Afternoon reception & office employees did not ware masks while serving guests. Some guests in common areas did not ware masks in recreation areas, as well as when standing up from their table at restaurant. Complete lack of control during Omicron era. There were signed posted to wear masks but not enforced.
This resort received a huge financial aid from the Ontario Government, thus most of the areas have been recently renovated.
Cabin very small, recently renovated, only suitable for two people. Two beds but they were smaller than double beds, one of the mattress was quite old thus difficult to sleep in that bed.
Restaurant, great servers. Meals were almost always very cold, and slow service. Most probably meals were held up in the kitchen, getting cold in the process. Breakfast good portions and flavor. Lunch similar to breakfast. Do not order anything with rice,it has no taste or any herbs added. One of the salads came with no dressing. Out of five meals only breakfast was acceptable, and in both occasions we ordered omelette, thus not certain about other options.
Hiking area is nice but quite small.
Recreation room, several guests did not ware masks, and the place was quite busy, no capacity limit. Big nice area, lot of sofas and tables but only two ping-pong & 1 billiard tables, those are mainly the options, not enough for the volume of the resort during winter.

Thank you for posting your Covid Concerns. I can assure you all our staff are masked, following all safety protocols and enforcing mask use to the best of their abilities.
I believe you stayed in one of our Edgewater cottages, suited along the lakeshore of Lake Couchiching. Yes these comfortable cottages have 2 double beds and a sitting area with a pull out loveseat sofa bed. They are ideal for couples or small families. Guests may also upgrade their accommodation choice to a two room cottage or a three room cottage if they so choose. I am glad you enjoyed your breakfast each morning and I apologize the other meals were not satisfactory. Mary Lou's recreational room is a busy spot. The room does have 2 ping pong tables, 2 Billiard tables as well as 3 retro video arcade games for guests to enjoy.
I hope you have an opportunity to visit us again.
Cordially,

Scott Collens
