My son and I visited in June 2018 for three nights and took the "Introduction to Horseback Riding Package" and were amazed!!! The place is really clean, the hosts are very friendly and the ranch and horses were beautiful. It's a very relaxing place, very country-ish and wonderful view of surrounding lake and cattle farm. We would definitely visit again. BTW the horseback riding and the guide were also amazing. It's a real treat for horse and Heartland enthusiasts:)

Room Tip: Bunkhouse Cabin has the best view. Very quiet. Delicious breakfasts. Beautiful sunsets!

Imagine yourself reclining in a patio lounger, watching birds gliding leisurely overhead, inhaling the fragrant blossoms of fruit and May Day trees while gazing across a sloping, green prairie grassed landscape - the lead-in to the glistening blue waters of Eagle Lake. Your ranch-themed cabin is a few steps away and provides very cozy, modern and clean comforts. If it is a massage you need, a soak in a hot tub, private candlelit dinner, horseback ride or just being waited on by the most hospitable and culinary-talented host, the Rocking R Guest Ranch should be on your bucket list. Terri’s organizational skills are amazing and her attention to detail is evident in everything she does. We also appreciated Marvin’s kindness and patience while accompanying us on a trail ride. My husband and I wanted to do something special for our 25th anniversary and we couldn’t believe our luck at discovering this piece of paradise so close to us here in Alberta. If you are looking for that special place for a special occasion, be sure to give Rocking R consideration. You won’t be disappointed.

We had such a wonderful stay at the Ricking R Guest Ranch! Terri made us such delicious breakfasts and was such a wonderful lady to talk to! When she knew we were coming back late one night, she messaged us to let us know she turned our outside light on for us.. something this small she thought of!! We are already planning our next stay later this year and can't wait!!

We couldn’t have picked a more picturesque setting for our family Christmas on December 24th and 25th than the Rocking R Ranch. The sun rise and sun sets were breath taking. Trees covered in frost, horses with frosty eyelashes and eyebrows topped of with a roaring fireplace. The service was impeccable and the food was to die for. You can’t miss Terri’s attention to detail and genuine hospitality.
Can’t wait for our next visit!

I am so happy that we got snow for Christmas! It always makes the fireplace more inviting and the warm drinks more enticing! We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back in another season so you can see the ranch when it is green and lush. Happy New Year!

We stayed at the ranch for 3 nights and had a most amazing and relaxing time. The cabin was immaculate and if you didn't know better you'd have thought it brand new. Whilst not overcrowded it catered to everyone with childrens chairs tucked under the window and bath toys in a basket under the bathroom sink. In fact my husband and I played a game to see if we could find something we needed but didn't have -we failed it was all there. However, had it been missing I'm equally sure Terri and Marv our hosts would have had it delivered pronto. When we expressed a wish for free range eggs Terri went to the local supermarket and picked some up for us when she could have so easily just directed us to the local shops.
The location itself was gorgeous with the most spectacular sunsets observed with a nice glass of wine sitting in the hot tub. Sunrise one morning presented us with a view of Eagle Lake and the distant rockies turning pink - beautiful sight and set us up for the day. I had my first ever riding lesson on Doc with the ever patient Marv giving me support and instruction, it will most definitely not be the last time I ride I loved it. Nor will this be our last visit to the Rocking R - we had such an amazing time it's definitely a place to return to on future trips to Canada. Thank You Terri and Marv for such a lovely end to our Canadian roadtrip and look forward to seeing you both in the future.

Room Tip: The Bunk House is the larger cabin with a fantastic view of the fields, horses and Eagle Lake
