A friend and I had dinner there last night. The waitress did a very good job, but there were a few problems...

The room was extremely noisy, to the point where we were having to talk very loudly just to communicate at all.

The food was quite variable in quality. I had an appetizer of spicy fries, which was pretty good, although not really what I would call spicy. My main course was the vegan curry. Good ingredients, but not really any spicing at all. (I only ate a few bites, couldn't be bothered to finish it.) My friend had the mussels with fries, which proved a bit odd. The mussels on top of the dish were very tasty indeed, some of the best either of us has had. It was as if the flavouring was sprinkled on top, though, because the mussels at the bottom were nowhere near as good. (Her fries were great.)

Will likely go again some time, I think the potential is there. Will want to sit in the outdoor patio, though, it likely won't be so noisy...

Had the salad. Huge slab of lettuce and not much else. Half an egg, sticks of cheese, a few tasty small shrimp and some chopped tomatoes. Very expensive and not enough to eat even for a light lunch.

Stopped in for lunch, all three of us ordered the Tusk burger, well appointed burger and nice and big, only problem was that it was overcooked. Burger patty is about 2 inches high so it is quite thick, you would think that something that thick would be undercooked not overcooked, patties must be already cooked (sitting by waiting for orders) as they are a popular item. Not a drop of juice came out of burger and there was only a slight tinge of pink in the very middle for a burger so thick, but still no juice. Extensive menu, great children's menu. Items on The menu should appeal to all. Place has been renovated very nicely and a new long bar has been added. Place is much brighter than when it was the Brasserie. Will try again but a bit disappointed on first visit, burgers like sandwiches should be sloppy and messy not dry and unappealing. Server was good, food came quickly, nice atmosphere. could be start up growing pains?

My family just visited the Tartan Tusk for the first time. We weren’t sure what to expect but we left vowing to return. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal (chicken shawarma, muffuletta, falafels). The frites were excellent!
The service was friendly although a little slow.

A very new start-up, in a good location which will improve immensely when the outdoor patio is open. Staff was very friendly & helpful, menu was interesting and Bar menu good. The waiter arranged slight change in halibut serving to suit a nervous tummy but on arrival the amount of fish was very minimal. The Tusk burger was ordered well done and what turned up was a hard black ball, rare in the middle. The patty needs to be flattened more to cook properly and to make the burger thin enough to eat. Everything tasted very good and look for this to improve with age. Will try again!
