Stay at the lake

Review of Elephant Hills
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 8 Feb 2024via mobile
This was a fantastic tour which worked like clockwork considering how many guests they had from our Pick up in krabi to our dropoff in Koh Samui. The food was amazing . The highlight of course is getting to feed the elephants as well as watching them in the water. The lake stay a close 2nd and is a must and is beautiful. Drinks are also reasonably priced.

Dear Khun rajthedog17,

Greetings from Khao Sok!

Many thanks for staying with us at Elephant Hills, and for taking the time to write this excellent review here on Tripadvisor. We are very excited to hear that you had great time with us here in one of the world's oldest rainforests. It's great to hear that you enjoyed the clean and comfortable tent in the excellent lay out, and found all activities were fun and well run.

Thank you for your excellent feedback on your total experience particularly the food and gentle giant moment. We have just forwarded your amazing comments to the team and we are sure they will all be thrilled to hear from you.

We, including the elephants, hope to be able to welcome you back to Elephant Hills Tented Camp soon again!

Best wishes,

Elephant Hills Team

Just amazing! Incredible experience, incredible service, incredible activities and wonderful team.

We weren’t sure what to expect. We wanted an experience that was respectful of the environment and wildlife but allowed us to experience the jungle and rainforest.

We arrived to be greeted by a stunning tented camp in the jungle. After a wonderful lunch we took canoes down the river and spent the afternoon learning about and feeding Asian Elephants. The elephant interactions were appropriate and respectful in small groups and tightly managed.

After a night in a wonderfully equipped (and 5 star equipped) tent we travelled out to the national park and spent 2 days and a night on a wonderful small floating village.

We hiked, caved, swam and kayaked. Our guides and the wildlife wardens were superb. The experience was like nothing we’d done before.

We cannot recommend the experience highly enough!

We absolutely LOVED our Elephant Hills experience! We’re a family of 5 with 3 teen/early 20 s lads and we all thought it was fantastic. It was everything we wanted from our jungle and lake camp experience. The highlight is obviously the interaction with these incredible creatures - the elephants are just amazing and being so close up just brilliant but the additional activities including kayaking through Khao Sok and the jungle trek on the lake camp part of the stay were all an added bonus. Food and snacks were plentiful and varied. The jungle tents and lake tents were all really comfortable with all mod cons. We particularly loved the lake camp as the views were fabulous! Our tour guide Hong was brilliant! So knowledgeable and always chatting to us and keeping us right! I cannot fault Elephant Hills from our pick up in Ao Nang Marina to dropping us to our hotel in Bang Tao bay at the end. Just fabulous!

Room tip: This is a packed itinerary! You may have a chance to have a quick dip in the pool - you may not! Fabulous though!

It's a beautiful place and all the staff were wonderful, helpful and eager to please. My only issue is comfort, there was absolutely nowhere to relax. The beds were hard and all seating was wooden benches without padding. It spoilt it for me unfortunately. Our tour guide Pearl was lovely, explaining exactly what we were seeing and that made up for a lot.

We had a cracking 3 night holiday at elephant hills, we had assumed it was 3 days with the elephants but we hadn’t read the itinerary properly. It was an afternoon with elephants and a kayak ride through the jungle where we saw monkies, snakes and spiders, then a mountain / jungle day on a long boat cruising round a lake and then the final morning trekking through the jungle with a Thai cooking lesson in the jungle. Not as anticipated but that was our fault but nonetheless a cracking 3 days and well worth a visit

WOW what can I say about this incredible experience!

My partner and I stayed here as part of our honeymoon, and honestly it was the highlight of our trip. We stayed one night at the elephant hills camp and one night on the lake.

Not going to lie, we were both a little apprehensive about heading in to the jungle. Neither of us are very brave when it comes to creepy crawlies but honestly, it wasn't a problem! The room and communal areas were spotless, and our guide Tor put us at ease straight away.

I thought meeting the elephants would be the highlight but honestly this experience was so much more than just that (although don't get me wrong, spending time with the gentle giants was a really special part).

I will never forget how peaceful it was to spend time at the floating lake, with only the sounds of the jungle to be heard.

Finally, I can't not mention THE FOOD. It was absolutely incredible, some of the best we had during our stay in Thailand, even on the floating lake - I have no idea how they managed it but it was amazing!

Overall, the service and organisation at elephant hills was unrivalled. A perfect stay which ran smoothly from start to finish. Thank you to all of those who made it so special!
