Zé Inácio is a restaurant that serves typical seafood from Costa Vicentina, and probably the best in my opinion in the centre of Porto Covo. You may order a starter (tips: amêijoas à Bulhão Pato, Camaroes ao Alhinho or Choco frito) followed by a main (tips: arroz de tamboril, polvo à lagareiro or arroz de bacalhau com espinafres) or you may eat only starters with the famous Alentejo bread. Tip for dessert: hazelnut mousse.

I just read @manuelam633 review and had to write my take.

We came as a family with no reservation and we were promptly placed and well received. The food was amazing and the waiter was the nicest I’ve met in some time. I worked in gastronomy before, so I have an idea of how hard it is to work under a 30+ degree sun and he was impeccable.

We couldn’t recommend Zé Inácio more and there’s a reason they are full regularly.

During a stroll through Porto Covo, we decided to have lunch at Zé Inácio. As there were some people waiting for a table, we left our name in the waiting list. After 20 minutes, when I asked how long it would take, the owner told me he forgot to write it down, and put my name in the end of the waiting list. As I said that we have been there for a while and it was not fair that he put us in the end, he was extremely rude to me and said I had no ideia of how many people had entered the restaurant since then. As a matter of fact, I had once I was waiting right outside the door. I still waited a bit, but he started to sit bit that had arrived and put their names on the list after I did. Honestly, it was his mistake and he was sooo rude about the situation. It could have been handled with such an easier and more plote approach. Never coming back. Just be aware of the rude owner.

The queue marks the spot. Went on sunday, so that was to be expected.
Got a table outside didn't had to wait very long.
We had the octopus and it was amazing! Perfectly cooked and tender, and slightly glazed... hmm! For this dish only I can highly recommend this place.
And if you have a sweet tooth (and i mean really sweet tooth) try the "migas doces". You won't forget it.
Prices are good for the portions they serve.

We had a great dinner to start our hiking of the fisherman's trail. We took the black pork for two and we had way too much. The meat was really tasty, we loved it and even toon the rest as take away for the lunch of the day after during the hike. It was great!
