When visiting Porto Covo for one night, we were looking for a typical cuisine of the Alentejo region. At Hortela Da Ribeira we found the perfect place. We ordered the baby squid and the rich tomato soup with fish, recommended by the chef, and we were told that this was a 30-year old, family-run business, where the owner's wife prepared the dishes with her sister's old recipies. We were surprised that not more customers had discovered this treasure! Most likely the best place in town. Highly recommended.
