Lots of learnings and lots of laughs with Sam. He cares about his craft and his patrons and gave us a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

I had booked on line well before our visit and received a few reminders. I had anticipated that the group would number about 20 and booking in advance would help Sam to manage this. As it turned out, people just turned up on the day so the group was, in fact over 40, far too large. We have taken a few 'free' waking tours in other places and have always been impressed with the knowledge, information and passion of the guide such that we tip generously. We didn't find out a great deal about the history or special delights of Quebec City, the tour being somewhat trite insofar as gaining information about Alfred Hitchcock and what celebrities had dined at a particular restaurant. Less than half way through, we decided it wasn't for us and quietly slipped away after noticing that another couple had done the same thing, so we didn't feel too bad! It could have been that we were expecting too much having read the reviews on TripAdvisor, or simply that we didn't understand the humour, so didn't 'get' the jokes. Do try it for yourself however as clearly most people on the tour rave about it judging from the 5* reviews, it simply didn't work for us.

Bonjour Bob
I apologize that it did not meet your expectations.

About the number of people on the tour, I always tried to get less than 20 people on tour.
A group over 20 is too difficult and less personal. I can confirm I never had a group over 40.
My website has a booking system that allow a certain number of people.
The average of the group is between 8-20 (in summer time on sunny day)

When people take the complete tour in general people are satisfy and learn a lot about the history of Québec. The tour is filled with different subject like sport, cinema, literature, past history from the French regime to the british one,fun fact and humor.
At the end you know many story that even local doesn’t even known.

Im currently working on a new tour and like I always said at the end of the tour.I take your advice really seriously. The tour is always a work in progress to find a great balance.

Thank you for trying at least and mostly thank you for having interest on it.

The tour was a really nice way to spend 2 hours in the old Quebec.

The guide is Francophone but did the tpur in English. He has a cool French accent which gives the tour a nice local feel.

The tour guide is really funny but gets in all the important historical facts you like.

If you like the tour you tip, and not once did he mention the tip, which was classy I thought - it didn’t feel like a husstle like some of these “free” tours dan feel.

We have been to Quebec with Friends recently. Found "Free Walking Tour" , and met our guide "Sam" close to Parliament House. its a 2 hour tour with lot of fun and the Facts. If you would like to cover everything in Old Quebec city he is the best person who would guide and explain the history in an interesting way. You will definitely enjoy the experience of the walking tour with Sam.

Sam was very funny, and the tour has a lot of fun and secret facts.
He answers all the questions, and speaks very clearly.
I really recommend it!

PD: you should also take this tour in winter. It's warm :D
