I've visited Montreal many times over the last 7 years to spend time with my daughter, a musician who works out of Montreal (Juno Winner!). Anyways, I've passed the hotel numerous times and at first thought it WAS an apartment building.
This time stayed five nights with a companion (I usually come alone). Stayed in a studio size room. It's nothing fancy but very clean as are all the public areas, has a good workout area, a fairly large indoor pool, a breakfast that is too early for my taste but it is there if you want it, very good people working at the front desk, and the "appartement" has everything you could need -- microwave, largish fridge with a freezer area, toaster, dishes, cutlery, a few pots and pans, coffee maker and kettle. We brought our own coffee and filters, tea and cappuccino mix etc. There are grocery markets near by and lots of restaurants. The balcony is large and while it is a bit noisy along Sherbrooke closing the balcony door muffles out much of the noise -- and very handy if you smoke! Too bad windows don't open for air as there is no screen door on the balcony (suggest this as a good idea to owners) and the bed might be a bit hard for some people. Close to all forms of transit and of course shopping. Very good deal through Expedia and overall a very good stay. If you want privacy and are fine with tidying up after yourself then no problem from the staff (hate hotels that insist on waking everyone up at 9 am so they can make the bed). Good place for either single travelers, couples or families.

Room Tip: I stayed on Sherbrooke side, might be quieter facing another direction.

Since my wife and me we do not like the traditional hotels, we chose this apartment hotel. Situated in the very center of Montréal, it offers all you need for a pleasant stay. We had an apartment with two queen beds, it had enough space and all you need for a kitchen if you do not like to spend your money in restaurants. We enjoyed the inside pool for relaxation and the roof terrace for a view over Montréal and sometimes for smoking.
A supermarket is two blocks away, Metro station few minutes. For people who like this, restaurants are nearby.
The hotel offers an indoor parking.
All people working a the reception are very friendly and speak French (what I like) and English as well.
We stayed for four days and enjoyed it.
I can recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: upper floors are better for access to the pool and roof terrace

What I liked:
The service was amazing, everyone was helpful and pleasant.
The location is very good as well, close to the subway, shops, and restaurants.
Free breakfast.
Free WiFi.

What was Ok:
Room was good, nothing out of the ordinary.
The TV did a weird sound when we turned it on/off, that was the only bad thing.
The bathroom was old, but it was clean and in point with the price we paid. The shower was very good.

What could be better:
Really small towels
Only two elevators, sometimes we had to wait.

I will definitely be back, special thanks to Stephanie from the front desk for being very helpful.

Room Tip: Upper floors are quieter.

L'Appartment is right in the heart of McGill University and just 3 blocks from a metro station. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. The facility is fully equipped, providing dishes, glassware, cutlery, dish towels, detergent, a microwave, water cooker, 4-burner stove, and refrigerator. There were 2 TVs (one in the bedroom and one in the living room) and free WiFi. The bedroom was small, but not cramped. The mattress was very firm; so were the pillows on the bed, but we found softer ones in the closet. There is a pool that looked good, but we didn't take advantage of it. There are also 2 markets (SAQ and Provigo) within a few blocks with a great variety of foods, beers and wines. There is a plain, but adequate breakfast available free. It includes yogurt, danish, toaster waffles and toast, hard-cooked eggs, juice and cereals. The coffee is delicious! We tend to eat a large luncheon while we are out and about and bring back cheese, wine, fruit, salad fixings, pate (or maybe a small steak) and a baguette for dinner, so the kitchen was much more than adequate for us. There is a dining area in the room with a table and 4 chairs, as well as a desk, coffee table, sofa, stuffed chair, and an occasional table, so we could really spread out. I would highly recommend L'Appartment as a very good value.

Room Tip: We were on the 16th floor, so it was far above any traffic noise.

Location is only 3 or 4 blocks from McGill University, Metro (subway station) and St. Catherine Street. We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment for 4 nights. Very clean, furniture a little old but bed was comfortable. Included breakfast (no hot food) but what they had (cereal, bread, bagels, muffins, hard boiled eggs, yogourt, apples, bananas, oranges etc) was very good and fresh.

Room Tip: We choose a room in top 3 floors. Found is very quiet - did not hear much street noise (cars, trucks)
