Biked from NOTL to Queenston - about 11km (6.8 miles). Easy paths (mostly flat) that are separate from the road, with lots to see. Watch out for occasional patch of gravel. Will do this ride again and go further.

We took a day to visit the Canadian country side heading towards Naigara on the Lake. During our drive, there are several places to pll over for Scenic view. Great views of the Niagara River, Brocks Monument, Local wineries, Floral Clock, Botanical Gardens and the Whirlpool Aero Car and Lookout. You can take as much leisure time you want. Great photo ops along the way and learning about the history of the area. Beautiful homes along the drive. Biking riding trails follow along the road for a more scenic view. This was our best day!

Paved trail from downtown NOTL by Queen's Landing hotel to just past Whirlpool cable car. Big climb at Queenston Heights but otherwise flat. Cycle past Fort George, Laura Secord's homestead, Brock Monument, Floral clock, Adam Beck Generating station, Butterfly conservatory, Botanical Gardens, Whirlpool Golf Course, and cable car. Lots to see en route.

Across from the Whirlpool golf course and above the whirlpool is an area to view the whirlpool from a slightly different angle. This area lies between Thompson point and the whirlpool access trail. Its a short walk through the forest on descent trails that are kept up and clean adequate parking as a rule but is busy on weekends during the nice weather and the picnic tables are full during tourist season

The Niagara Parkway from Niagara-On-The-Lake to Niagara Falls is a lovely scenic and fairly quiet drive along the Niagara River (with views and bridges across to the USA) with a bike path alongside. There a scenic lookouts, attractions such as the gondola ride over the Whirlpool, an Art Gallery and Museum, Tea Room, a couple of Inns, some shops SEVERAL Wineries with Tastings including Ice Wine. Brock's Monument National Historic Site on the Queenston Heights, historic Fort George National Historic Site, Laura Secord Homestead and other Sites (all the National Sites have free admission in 2017) and of course the Falls.
