Lots of bars in a very short block, some serve food to help soak up the spirit. Visited Christian’s bar for a traditional ‘screech in’ experience- simply fabulous, great entertainment and lots of spirit! As a totally pedestrianised area, it’s completely safe and taxi’s are readily available. Prior to the ‘screech’ many of the party meet next door for an early supper prior to the organised entertainment.
Lively, safe but can get crowded.

When I lived in Newfoundland, I was 40.
When I lived in Newfoundland, I felt 25.
When I visited George Street, I felt 70.
That place is exhausting. But it's cool.

A bunch of pubs and clubs all in a row! We checked out a few places on Saturday night. Live entertainment everywhere. Saw an awesome local band at the Blues Club. Busy, busy street, but the road is closed off to cars, so you can walk around safely and comfortably. What a blast!

This is a full blown party street with live music blaring from every pub every night of the week. If your plan is to go for one drink and call it an early night, don’t go here. Time doesn’t exist on George St and next thing you know it’s 4 am.

If you're looking for a night on the town, George Street offers many different types of bars. Lots of very good restaurants within easy walking distance. We tend to leave around midnight to avoid any riffraff. We personally think that the security should be up to bit after midnight. Other than that it's a great time!
Mardi Gras is a MUST!
