Vancouver is my 2nd home so returning there involves a series of "Must do" experiences. Eating at Cardero's (and the Teahouse, in the same chain) are top-of-the-list experiences.
I'm an old rower (eights, double sculls) and tugboat aficionado. Eating there, when the weather is great, the servers are clever-sassy but swift, and the food is wonderfully prepared and seasoned, is not to be missed. Especially when I can share our respective love of boats and family histories with people I care about. Wandering around among the beautifully executed ship and boat models (while the perfect dessert taste lingers) is simply an unmatched treat. We likely will not see much more of that craftsmanship and evident love of curving lines built to move through water.
This trip was just a fantastic as all the previous visits. And ensured I will bringing family and friends there again the next trip Out West. And for as many years as I can still travel (as long as they preserve and protect that gorgeous old single scull hanging from the ceiling!!!)
