We had read the reviews and were anticipating a lovely fishy treat in a friendly setting. However the whole experience was really disappointing: pretty dismal ambience, amateur service, and lacklustre, watery food. I ordered the hake in a lobster bisque with a crust of crab and cheese. in fairness, the fish was fresh and quite nicely cooked, but the sauce had no flavour at all - a bare trace of tomato, certainly no presence of lobster - and the fish had not been seasoned at all. My partner had the trio of fish, which was supposed to come with a pea & bacon velouté but was served just as a rather dreary pile of fish with no trace of velouté, just a few peas. Altogether VERY uninspired food. No sense of its being prepared with care and taste, let alone love. Almost £20 for each of these dishes: ok, fish is pricey, but when you think what is available at the Beach cafés at half the price, it is quite weird that these guys do business at all.
Really not recommended.
