the hotel is a way to big but we stayed in the Grand Luxxe and it just amazing, the facilities that this place has are unbelievable the spa is expensive but great try the golfer massage, the rooms are just perfect, clean and interior design is very good, the golf course is excellent please go!

Room Tip: higher rooms are quieter

Manuel Guzman did an outstanding job with our stay at your resort. We had a major water leak issue our first night with a broken pipe above our room. He came in very early to help solve our problem, find a new room and get his team to move our belongings to the new room. This started at 5:30 am and his service was exceptional!

The Grand Luxxe can be wonderful and yet it can be frustrating. The property is remarkable, with amazing amenities. But sometimes it is too big, and getting around can be difficult. The rooms in towers two and three need maintenance and new furniture. The kitchen is only minimally stocked with gear for cooking.

The sales experience is usually a nightmare, but some have favorable experiences. Be wary of what you buy. And always assume that something bigger and better will come along in a year or two. In 2004, The Grand Mayan was the biggest and best. The Grand Bliss came along. Then the Grand Luxxe, The Punta, the Spa Tower, The Residence, Platinum Level and probably something else. Unless you upgrade, and spend more, you get pushed down in the system.

The staff at check-in is all over the map, and when you need something, often not helpful. Reservation’s notes have little or no impact on what occurs at check in.

The food this year was disappointing. I became sick after one meal.

The working staff, concierge, maids, pool staff, maintenance people and waitstaff, are all helpful. Management often answers question with, you should go to the owner’s update (sales pitch).

Despite all of the above, the pools are nice, the rooms big, the beach relaxing and the competition lean. We will see what happens to the property when the water park is completed.

Two standout staff deserve note. Lilia Orozco, Concierge and Denis Sanchez, Chief Concierge, were invaluable during our stay. Kind, very helpful, and corrected some problems with ease. Thank you

We were on a family vacation in Grand Luxxe and everything was amazing but we have to highlight the service provided by our concierge Luis Aguilar of tower 5, the best service attitude, always with a beautiful smile and a unique sense of humor, without a doubt HE MADE OUR STAY UNIQUE AND UNFORGETTABLE...

We spent our week with 2 other couples, we stayed at the Grand Luxxe Punta, we had a 3 bedroom suite on this visit and as usual the resort was amazing, the staff was great and the property was very relaxing. The only issue we had with our room is a constant running toilet and if given a wiggle, that would fix it, not a huge deal. We ate at the Custom burger and wow, what an amazing dinner, a very nice selections of meats made into burgers, we also ate at Gong and Raul our chef was fun, the dinner was great and the drink that came with dinner was very tasty. We also ate at Café de Lago for one of our breakfasts and it too was amazing, all of the fresh fruits and the variety of choices in main courses. What we were not happy about was the changes made to the Valets, it was much slower service and expected to be driven straight to the valet parking and back to our room, as we had been in the past. The Valets that we did have interaction with were great and very friendly, especially Santos, he was helpful and always greeted us with a smile and made sure we made it to our destination.
The night we had dinner at Gong, we stopped at the Deseo jewelry store in the Grand Mayan and I found a beautiful sapphire ring and was happy that they were able to size it before we left the resort, so I bought it, a great purchase. The next night when showing our friends around the property, we stopped at the Plaza/Marketplace and made a stop at the Deseo at the Plaza/Market place, I took a look at the sapphires there and when I mentioned that I purchased a beautiful ring at the Grand Mayan location, Brenda at the counter commented that the jewelry at the other Deseo was not real, and it was just colored glass, which took me by surprise, I thought this was a very inappropriate comment to make especially since I just purchased a beautiful piece of jewelry and also since our friends whom had never been to this resort, were also shopping with us, I wasn’t happy to say the least. The clerk at the Deseo at the Grand Mayan, was very friendly and helpful and is why I was taken aback by the comment made by Brenda at the Plaza location.
We love our time at the Vidanta properties, it is a very relaxing time and we look forward to our next stay there.
