I really liked our 6-day stay at Fort Recovery in January 2017. It's a very private, relaxed resort and we had a top floor villa consisting of a king-size bed room and a combination living/dining room and nicely equipped kitchen. The balcony overlooked the private beach. In the evening were beautiful sunsets over St. John which was located about 1 mile or so away.

The suite or villa was very comfortable, clean and well kept. Justin was helpful in helping us plan our daily activities and Idet made whatever we wanted for breakfast. Dinner is also available but must be ordered ahead of time.

Although driving in Tortola is a nightmare due to crazy drivers (who drive on the left with cars with steering wheels on the left) and unbelievably steep, curvy roads, we had good access to restaurants
and entertainment located at the far west end in Soper's Hole and surrounding areas. The road back to Road Town was decent enough to drive at night. Most of the public beaches were on the north side which we frequented during the day. We didn't want to be near the city and the West End provided a perfect blend of serenity and activities. There's a ferry dock also on the West End with ferries to St. John, St. Thomas and Jost Van Dyke.

We would recommend Fort Recovery.

Thank you very much for that wonderful review. Even though driving seems challenging you do get used to it after a while. You certainly got around and thank you for sharing us with information about Tortola and different places to go . I do hope we see each other again......Anita

Thank you for taking the time to write about us. I would like you to know we have added lunch for any requests we get. It is actually doing very well. When we heard you would have like that, we decided to keep the restaurant open for lunch. You know what? It worked out wonderfully. Thank you for your great idea. Anita

I like this place. As one other reviewer put it, it's good for Tortola. Very laid back atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Everyone from the office staff to the cook, the restaurant server, the gardener, even the Grandson of the owner very willing to answer questions and showed concern for the guests' satisfaction. The beach is small, but nice, with views of sailboats and lush green hillsides. Our room was neat and clean. The advertising was totally respresentative of what we enjoyed when we arrived. We had dinner one morning and breakfast one night. The food was good. The rest of our time on island, we ate at other establishments or had snacks in our room which was equipped with a kitchenette.

Room Tip: From our upstairs suite, we could hear the ocean and also some road noise, but it was very minimal.

The lovely review made my day. It was all around a great review and much appreciated. All of us, including the entire staff says "Thank you." We can't take credit for the great views or the fabulous Caribbean Sea or the Sunsets, but we take all credit with gratitude of all that you bestowed on us. Thank once more......Anita

If you would be so kind to go to our Face Book you would probably have read that we have done a great deal of alterations in all the Deluxe Villas. They are really quite outstanding as you can read in some of more recent reviews, but thanks for mentioning it. You really had us reevaluate what we had that could be more updated, and so we did. It wasn't in our superior villas, which are newer. however we are all on target now. Thanks for your opinion. It really helps. however I am glad that you also noted the more outstanding details such as, "directly on the beach, Caribbean charm, spacious, and most of all, had a good time. Thanks again.
