Lots and lots of bees so be mindful of that. Definitely a neat place to check out if you’re hanging out in the park

We stopped here about 30 minutes while heading north through the park. On the west side is a nature trail, on the east side it is more natural. It is many acres of Cholla Cactus but if you look there are other plants and cactus. Warning, do not touch. The spines have small barbs on the end and are difficult to get out o skin or clothes.

The cholla cactus garden was my first stop inside Joshua Tree National park and it's definitely a must visit. These unique cactus are pretty against the desert plains.

We didn’t find anything spectacular about 100s of cholla in one place when there are many other spots to see these cacti - just not in as high of a concentration.

This is perfect for a quick introduction to the cactus, where you can get up close and personal! The walk meanders through the cute little cactus. It gets interesting when you realize that these cactuses are from the Colorado desert, and the Joshua trees are from the Moab. The trail is easy, and allows you to get some good shots!
