This campground is great low-budget alternative to the hotels in the valley. I've camped there several times and always enjoyed the experience. It's located in the middle of the valley, with convenient access to all the major sights, as well as the restaurants and other amenities of the Furnace Creek Ranch. The facilities have always been adequate and are now being updated. It gets very crowded during the cool part of the year and on holidays, so go when it's warmer if you can.

We tent camped here for one night in September - it was HOT.
The campground is in a convenient location to the resort and the Furnace Creek Visitor Center - we were lucky to get a site with some shade, which was desperately necessary. There is a small block of portable bathrooms (toilets only), just the other side of the trees, and then it's a walk across the resort to the pool house for the shower facilities, which were large and clean. Positives are that campers have access to the resort facilities (pool, laundry, showers, general store, WiFI etc).
On a negative, there didn't seem to be any restriction on generator use, and an RV arrived late into the site next to ours, and left their generator on most of the night. There was no security or staff around to follow up with to remedy this situation. The campground wasn't busy, so it seemed silly to have even placed the RV in such close proximity to other campers when there was so much space available anyway.

The Fiddler campground is a great location to see all the popular sites in DV. Stayed in early May and temps were in the low 90's, though the wind was bad at times. Loved the pool and showers on site and the campsites next to the golf course offer some shade if you tent camp, which we did. The property is undergoing major construction at this time but the work was not that much trouble for us. Be sure to visit NPS visitor center next door before you explore the park to get some ideas on what to see. Also check out the museum on site, very nice and free.

Room tip: Best campsites are #1-16

Had a one night stop here in March 2017 as part of a road trip from Vegas to San Francisco.
The roads into Furnace Creek are epic in their bleakness and brings the stark reality of where you are into focus.
Approaching this place you are greeting with a luch green oasis against the brown and white backdrop of the valley and surrounding mountains.
Check in was fast and the staff where great. The cabin we rented was small, a little tatty and a complete contrast the Vegas, but the air con worked well and the beds were acceptable.
Don't expect any phone service and the WiFi is a 56K modem throwback in it's lack of speed, perfect!
March/April is not too hot, mid-80's early 90's so the fresh spring pool was very pleasant. The restaurants and bars where quite expensive but, hey, you are in the middle of nowhere drinking cold beer in air conditioned wooden cabins.
Overall the sheer fact you are in the middle of Death Valley and the resulting views makes this place a bucket list venue.
