Owner description: At 509 meters high, this was the world's tallest building from 2004 to 2010, when the Burj Khalifa in Dubai surpassed it. The tower is reminiscent of a pagoda or a stalk of bamboo and designed to withstand typhoons and earthquakes common in Taiwan. Floors one through five are a shopping center and both the indoor (89th floor) and outdoor (91st floor) observation decks offer a 360-degree panoramic view.

Taipei 101 was part of our group's day 2 itinerary during a wet and cloudy October day. The lift to the 89th-floor observation deck was an amazing experience. The desk offers a good , 360º city view but due to cloudy weather, we didn't really get a good. We however did enjoy some interesting collection of unique jewel crafts in the 88th floor. The Taipei 101 Mall fabulous fashion finds and refined dining from around the world.

We went to the observation deck and took in the sites, another must go in Taipei, has a stop on the red line for the subway, be patient the line gets long but move pretty steady, take the stairs down 1 floor to see the gold counterweight

Indoor observatory gives you a 360 view of Taipei. Day, sunset and night views are remarkable, specially if its a clear day. Outdoor observatory has a limited area and has limited view for safety. Theres a video played inside showing how the tower was built, which is nice. Damper looks massive. Visit it on a weekday to be able to appreciate the views and take good pics.

Always a pleasure to visit this iconic highrise building in Taipei. Went up to the 89 floor observatory since weather was quite clear. Good view of Taipei city. Lift is super fast. The giant wind damper is a must see. There's also an outdoor area on 91st floor. Highly recommended

Taipei 101 is a multi service building. The office tower is home to some of the world's most recognized corporation. It also has a shopping arcade with numerous restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries and food hall. Of course it also has the observatory on the 89th floor. It is a very popular spot and you will be there for one reason or the other. Try Agnes b. cafe, for some luscious pastries and great coffee and tea. You can reach Taipei 101 by taking the red line subway and getting off at World Trade Center/Taipei 101 stop.
