This place is quite hidden from the outside, and it is a bit further away from the MaoKong station.
We got outdoor (hill side) seat upon arrival.
We ordered a few dishes and the famous Tie Guan Yin tea (need to make your own tea following the instruction on the packaging, so it is quite nice).
Basically, everything is tasty but i like the noodle (forgot what it is called) the most.
It was about 18 degree Celsius during the day time, so it was really nice sitting outdoor.
It is a great place to gather and talk with friends.

We took the gondola up to the Maokong area as we heard that there are various tea houses and hikes you can do in the region.

We chose the Yao Yue Tea house on a recommendation from a friend. It is a bit of a walk from the station (20 minutes or so) but it is a beautiful walk and you can also take some of the detour hikes along the way if you have time.

Yao Yue is an interesting experience. They have an English menu that shows you the steps involved in making the tea. The ordering process was a bit confusing. First you fill out the paper with what type of tea you want (and food). Next you take it to the counter. The hostess will give you a tray with the tea leaves and everything else you need to make the tea EXCEPT the hot water! There is a hot water filling station inside the main restaurant (took us a while to figure that out) where you will fill your pot. They charge one price for the tea then an additional per person charge for the "all you can drink" hot water. Price depends on what time you are there. They are open 24 hrs and it is a bit more in the evening. We were there in the afternoon and it was $70 NTD/PP for the water. Any left over tea leaves you take home!

We ordered the pouchong tea as I had been told it was locally grown. After the ceremonial brewing of the tea we enjoyed the delicious brew.

The tea house is also known for their tea infused food. We ordered the tea infused noodles and I have to say that it was one of the best dishes we had during our entire trip! We also ordered the pork dumplings which were also delicious!

The entire bill was $655 NTD and we had plenty of tea leaves left over to take home.

Nice ambience, having lunch and enjoying tea. (Have to take a 20mins cable car and walk 25mins) to reach this teahouse. The food are good and price is very reasonable. No time limit.

Although it is probably quite far from the gondola station, the ambiance and the food is probably worth the 30 minute walk here.
This is a huge property with many levels of areas all the way down to the stream in the valley. The tea here is self service, which is the norm of the area, and they give you instruction cards on how to prepare each kind of tea, so it's quite easy.
Food here is better than the other establishments in the area.
Recommended!
