This small temple on Dihua street houses the city god. A small but very interesting temple, easily missed.

If you are wandering down Dihua Street, you cannot miss the City God Temple. It was built in 1859 and maintained by a single family to the present day. It houses over 600 dieties. It has become known as the temple for matchmaking and love. Visitors hoping to find love or just maintain a happy marriage, pray at this Taoist temple. Couples who have recently got engaged or married will often leave offerings of cookies. Make sure you see inside both rooms as the 1000 golden Buddhas is most interesting. I found a staff member who spoke good English and she was able to answer all my questions. It is always crowded, but don't let this stop you from entering.

People had incense in their hands and were praying in great numbers the day we went. Was so crowded it didn't feel comfortable to push our way in. Simple, small but picturesque spot. If you on Dihua street, don't miss. You can't walk by and not see it. Ornate exterior roof and intriguing dark interior

Taiwanese temple. They were serving a small cup of sweet tea at the front. This may be for visitors for prayer but the tea was accessible for anyone. This temple locates love Cupid so especially popular among young ladies and Japanese.
