Review of Red Rock Resort
4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 31 Jul 2019
A hotel in the Ghorki Terelj National park. In this park there is very much accommodation so the park is less attractive. In the hotel you can choose for a ger or luxe-ger or a room. The rooms are clean and fine. They have even a tennis court, basket court etc. Food and breakfast are OK: price is in Mongolian terms rather high. Best is them to contact by mail or website. Friendly and English speaking staff.

Booked and stay at their luxury Ger! Very modern design. Personally I like it a lot in the Ger! However the lack of information might make you freeze in the Ger at night! Bearing in mind the temperature dips to -9 over night. The attach bathroom is a plus and worth the extra you pay.

Only tried one restaurant on site which the food taste is very good! Kudos to the chef. However beware food will come out very slow! Which I think is very common in Mongolia.

Overall a very nice resort for family! Big sports facility including basketball, tennis and a football pitch.

        Worth the try!

Spent 5 days at this hotel or an event in June 2018. I stayed in one of the hotel rooms - very comfortable. Colleagues stayed in gers and small houses - they seemed very satisfied. The hotel event support was tremendous with keen and friendly staff and management. The hotel itself is located in a great position with hills all around - just waiting to climb; as well as nomadic livestock keepers and their animals. Highly recommend for a workshop or event - they have nice meeting spaces and great wifi and the food was very good.

Room tip: Avoid the lower floor rear-view rooms as they don't have the great views

Stayed 1 night in ger. There are 4 beds, fridge and table, no shower & toilet in the ger. But not inconvenient, just go to the main building, it is very clean and well maintained.
The restaurant ‘s menu has Mongolian food and western food. I enjoyed the resort very much!

The place looks good at first. Nice mountain cabin design. However, things disintegrate fast since opening little more than a year ago. The metal windows have double glazing only, which is not sufficient for Mongolian winters. Bathrooms have no heating at all. Saving energy is also no concern and lots of doors are open, which results in chilly temperatures in parts of the building. Part of the staff is not much interested in the guests but occupied with their smartphones. Orders at the restaurant are half of the time either forgotten all together or mixed up. The walls between the rooms a pretty thin, so expect a lot of noise on busier weekends. The door locks are not functioning well, most of the time they are not locking and the alarm goes off automatically. That happened at my door and others at the same floor, which gives you a constant alarm ringing through the night. Not worth the money.
