Wow, what a fantastic place to stay. Rooms are big, well presented and spotlessly clean. Dot and her Husband are fantastic hosts and very helful. Food and service are first class. Will definitely be coming back.

A warm welcome on our arrival was followed by the keys to the Hickman room. Everything was there from a fluffy bathrobes, an amazing shower and a very comfortable four poster bed.
The bar had an excellent selection of gin and it was wonderful to sit in the garden on such a lovely evening.
The restaurant offered a great selection of dishes, I had the beef cheek and it was well presented and very tasty.
The breakfast selection included bacon and sausage sourced locally and again it was a delight.
We had a two night stay and will definitely return when in Gainsborough.
Contributing to an excellent weekend, when we celebrated our Diamond Wedding. We were made most welcome and the management excelled in meeting all our last minute requirements and participated in the joy of the occasion. The room was ideal for our disabled status, staff helpful and friendly, food excellent and imaginative. Chef willing to alter or provide extra dishes or snacks. We would recommend this hotel for any special occasion or for a holiday in Lincolnshire. Thank you, Dot.
I spent a lovely time here at a wedding reception and disco held in a marquee in the beautiful, well maintained and sheltered gardens. The welcome, service and meal were of a very high standard with nothing too much trouble, and all with social distancing rules in place. We will definitely visit this local restaurant again as a couple and we look forward to taking advantage of drinks and sampling a meal in these peaceful surroundings.
After a lengthy drive from Surrey it was such a pleasure to arrive at the Hickman Hill Hotel. The gardens are stunningly beautiful, the welcome from Dotty and her husband very friendly. As with another recent reviewer, Dotty kindly moved a table to a sunnier spot for a much-needed pot of tea in the garden. My Mum and I stayed for one night, my Mum's ground floor bedroom was traditional with lovely views of the garden, I had an ultra modern room on the first floor with original wooden shutters instead of curtains, and some quirky fittings.
The restaurant was a delight - one of the nicest meals out for a very long time, with honeyed brie followed by salmon in a herb crust. Breakfast was very good and nothing was too much trouble, a fresh fruit salad produced at the drop of a hat; lovely. I only wish the journey was shorter as I would definitely make the restaurant a regular excursion if closer!
I stayed at the Hickman whilst away for work. Dotty couldn't of been more accommodating. Once we'd checked in we wanted to sit outside to work and enjoy the sunshine, she went out of her way to move a table for us into the sun and checked on us regularly to refill our drinks. The food was the best i've personally ever had at a hotel of this size. Unusual menu options but I opted for the Hake and it was absolutely beautiful. Breakfast was equally as delicious. Room was clean and comfortable. The gardens surrounding the hotel were absolutely beautiful and the whole hotel just had a lovely warm and inviting feel to it. I would definitely stay here again if i'm ever in the area again for work :)
