This was one of my favorite beaches in Phuket. I was disappointed with most of them....I just had a different vision in my mind of Phuket's beaches. Surin was a nice place to lay out and the swimming was great. Big, rolling waves that you could float around on. No rocks or anthing in the water.

The beach is wide and big with white/yellow sand. It is on the open sea side. The waves are great for jumping and refreshing. Not crowded at all,

Surprisingly peaceful. I expected it to be overrun with tourists but it was remarkably free of deck chairs and touts. There were even a few Thai families enjoying the water.

Waves were fairly big and there were surfers in the water. Not a beach for wading for the kids!

On the downside there didn’t seem to be much around it in the way of restaurants or drink shops during the day. You have to walk about 5 minutes to the main road for that.

Not at all a busy beach in May when we went. Sad is mostly soft powdered sand. We stayed at the Surin Phuket resort so that part of Surin beach is predominantly occupied by the two resorts there. Didn’t go to the public beach so can’t comment on that.
