I'm really impressed here because all employees are kind and ready to serve you like you are the king and queen. They have rooms with a completely different design. To start, our trip was booked in 2019 before covid hit. We were so upset that we wouldn't be able to still take our dream honeymoon to Phuket and to the Slate. We finally were able to take out trip in June 2022. I can say that the whole time between when we booked our trip, covid hit, then 2022, every time I emailed The Slate about a question or concern, someone immediately would contact me back. The communication and help that The Slate staff provided me and my husband was impeccable. And that does not even compare to our trip. From start to finish our time at The Slate was breath taking. Every part of this resort, from the rooms, to the pools, to the food, to even the bathrooms (my husband is a plumber), is superb. I cannot say enough good things about this resort. All of the staff, literally every person we came in contact with was warm and welcoming. Almost everyone remembered our names or the drinks that we liked. They would always ask about our day, or if we needed anything. We actually did not even leave the resort the first few days and the last two days (we were in Phuket a total of 13 days, all spent staying at The Slate) because everything was so nice. The beach was beautiful. The massage was fantastic. BREAKFAST WAS SOOOO GOOD. Thank you again for making our honeymoon and at the time 2 year anniversary beyond anything we could have imagined. The Slate - high expectations, exceeded!
We have stayed at Nai Yang Beach several times over the past ten years, it’s a not only its own unique little community, it’s a also great base for travelling in Thailand and other parts of Asia. This is the first time we have stayed at The Slate, having visited there a few times for its superb Black Ginger restaurant, a must do experience. We were excited to book for a week at The Slate, we had very high hopes and it really delivered. Firstly, the decor of the public spaces and the rooms are brilliant although hard to describe adequately. It’s quite majestic in scale, soaring ceilings, huge artworks, dramatic feature lighting. It really is a must-see. We stayed in a pool suite, the most basic of the pool rooms, and it was superb, those high ceilings and decor again, with a perfect size terrace garden for the 2 of us. The spa area is divine. The garden settings and all three public pools are brilliant, and the hospitality, whether at one of the happy hours, pools, breakfast rooms, or Rebar, or back at Black Ginger, top line. A bonus is that you can walk from the back of the hotel directly out into central Nai Yang and onto the beach. A bunch of great eating options that never detracted from the wonderful experience we had at The Slate. Truly the best of both worlds.

Being quite new to Nai Yang myself, I must admit the charming little beach town has indeed a lot to offer in terms of nature, biodiversity, and even a hint of nightlife. Since we are adjacent to Sirinat National Park, various exotic birds and animals can also be found on our 25-hectare resort grounds.

You do not stay at The Slate you experience it. From the unique styling of every restaurant, bar and room, to the picturesque grounds, every twist and turn in this resort provides another visual treat. We have been visiting since 2015 every year and the main reason for our return is the amazing staff and their real and genuine desire to provide every guest with a wonderful stay. A special mention to the fantastic Apple who went above and beyond to ensure that once again as returning guests we still received the same level of attention and Ian at pool 3 who once again made sure that we along with every other guest has the best level of service at the poolside. From the check-in to our departure, the level of service and help we received was faultless. If you want the most relaxed and carefree break then definitely visit The Slate. The style of the bars and restaurants are definitely unique and need to be seen to be believed. This is one impressive resort that stands apart from the regular corporate hotels and one that will be visited for years to come

Rebar is the perfect place for a sundowner, followed by premium cuts at Rivet, and an after-dinner cocktail at Tongkah Tin Syndicate. For those who wonder, Tongkah was the original name for Phuket, and the bar displays the Owning Family's fascinating collection of tin mining memorabilia on its walls and ceilings.

Just returned from an awesome week at The Slate. The staff are incredible, the Pearl Suite was a real treat and our meal at the Black Ginger restaurant was superb. The design of the resort is quite something. To top it all our flight home was delayed overnight and we were accomodated without any hesitation, given a 4.30am transfer to the airport and a beautiful breakfast box to send us on our way. Tries to be unique (mining industry theme), but fails to impress at a functional level.
Hits
(1) large spacious grounds and plants aplenty
(2) our room was spacious (D-Buk family suite)
(3) location is very near the international airport
Misses
(1) does not have private beach (but has access to public beach)
(2) lack of functionality
- bath towels squeezed into a cloth bag; it was an effort taking it out from the bag, imagine putting it in!)
- toilet roll holder in the form of a large screw, but couldn't be screwed in place securely
- lack of wall hangers for clothes and towels
- liquid bath and shampoo gel containers could probably be in pump bottles for less wastage and better hygiene
(3) impractical design (or maybe I just cannot appreciate it)
- knobs that are made of 'rusty' screws (they certainly look rusty but am not sure if I should wash my hands every time after touching them)
- full scale mirror right in front (i.e. 20 cm from your knees when seated on the toilet bowl), or mirror on the ceiling (yes, ceiling) of the shower cubicle.

While we are glad to read that you were pleased with various aspects of your stay, we have also taken well note of the areas which leave room for improvement. We do have indeed a challenge with the toilet roll holders, and are currently looking at alternatives, however without changing the particular design. As for the missing options to hang ones cloths, the separate dressing room does actually provide ample space, and we are happy to provide additional hangers if required. Last but not least, thank you for highlighting the missing hooks for the bath towels, and we are pleased to inform you, that we are on process to increase from 2 to 4 hooks for all Family Suite rooms.
