This was our second visit to Oakridge for lunch. We were very impressed first time, so for a special occasion we decided to go again. Half the room was being used for a private function on this occasion, so the restaurant was somewhat smaller than previous. All the same the view out to the vines is terrific. We tried a few wines in the tasting room before being seated so that we could choose a wine for lunch.
We started with entrees of onion tarte tartin and smoked trout, caviar, and caraway pastry with garden herbs. Beautifully presented and very tasty.
Mains were duck breast, kangaroo rump and shoulder and slow cooked beef. Again quality was excellent and quantity easily sufficient. We complemented the meals with sides of hand cut chips and a garden salad.
Finished lunch with coffees. Service was excellent and the room had a good ambience. Wines are also very good. An extremely pleasant lunch.
