Thank you so much for a brief but comfortable stay in your wonderful hotel. I can’t quite believe that Limoux hosts such a treasure in the middle of town. Waking up to the sounds of the market setting up was such a joy!
For those who find this annoying I suggest you go to a hotel in the country, this is typical french life!
We arrived late at night after a very long hot day of travel.
We had the codes to get through the beautiful 15th century door, just needs a bit of a push, can’t quite believe that would ruin someone’s stay!!
You walk into a fabulous hallway and turn back time, the magnificent stone stairs lead up to the rooms, NOT steep, and easy to ascend. A lift would absolutely ruin this beautiful building..for those who really need a lift in their lives I suggest you go to a another more modern hotel. There are plenty about.
Air conditioning worked a dream. Lovely fresh bed linen and towels..
Yes, the bedrooms may need a bit of modernising but I found it extremely comfortable..it’s difficult to modernise such a beautiful building without spoiling the feel and then of course the prices would be sky high!
We paid 50 euros each in high season.. such a good price for chance to step back in time in this historical building that luckily has not been spoilt by an awful renovation, which is so often the case..
Breakfast was perfect, some lovely home made jams fresh fruit yogurts toast, fresh hams cheese, croissants. Abundant! Very good coffee and tea..
Lovely staff, very helpful, knowledgable and proud of the history of their hotel.
I highly recommend for those who love authenticity, historical places and good service, who can also detach themselves from the modern idea that everything has to be perfect 100% of the time and who don’t focus on minor foibles that could ruin an otherwise perfect stay. 🙂
