It wasnt easy to get a table, not even in the low season of October. So we reserved for the next evening. It was worth it! The pasta was really great. Nice and friendly staff and a good variety of wines. The starter, goat cheese salad with Apple and walnut delicious. We will sure come back here when we visit Formentera next time.

Great food- Pasta Carbonara was outstanding. Loved all the staff there. Great showmanship and stellar cuisine.

We saw the pasta plates while passing by and they looked fresh and tasty and decided to give it a try. It took some time to get a table. Many guests and few waitress. We ordered 2 plates, had a children plates as well and the food lived up to the expectations. We will come back.

This is a casual and informal restaurant in San Francesc serving some of the best (the best?) pasta in Formentera. Mateo and Francesco run the front of house with gusto, and Julia is a genius in the kitchen. She and her team concoct a variety of marvellous pasta dishes using seasonal ingredients, mostly sourced from local producers but also with Italian imported delicacies like the marinated artichokes that Francesco offered us as a starter when we were last there for lunch. The wines are to die for if you have the means (Tignanello, Sassicaia and so on) but with a good selection of more affordable gems. Whether it's for a casual lunch or a more formal dinner, this is the place to go.

Normally you are not supposed to write reviews when you're still emotionally attached but I have to let off some steam. My girlfriend and I just had a terrible experience at El Gioviale when we wanted to have a bite to eat for lunch. We went into the place, passed the waiter and sat down. Only after a couple of minutes he came to us and told us the table was booked and we couldn't sit there. There were other unoccupied tables but when we asked him what he suggests we do he was very rude and said "how would i know". Then, after we left, there were some Italians who passed by and who clearly hadn't booked a table who then sat down at the place we had been sitting before. The food at the other tables looked and smelled excellent but the attitude of the staff towards their guests is terrible - if you're not Italian that is
