After spending 6 years at another, but rather a rural location in Samui, our former hotel changed owners and the rates almost doubled. Mom is now 85 and we also wanted a more centrally located hotel where we would not need a car or motorbike to get to our favorite restaurants and bars. We also wanted to stay close to the beach. At the same time we wanted some peace and quiet. After reading hundreds of reviews at TA we ended up booking a room at The Waterfront. This turned out to be a very good choice. We never regretted it, not even once ! We absolutely loved it ! Airport transfer was effective and so was the check-in, where we were greeted by one of the owners, delightful Sue, our Lady of the Manor. She did her rounds every day, talking to the guests, making sure everyone was happy. Our room was the perfect size (and just like the pictures on the website) with a big bathroom, good closet space for two ladies and a nice view of the beach. It was kept spotlessly clean by the wonderful housekeeping staff. The beach is not perfect for swimming, but just 50-100 meters along the beach it was a lot better. The pool is a good size and well maintained. There were enough sunbeds for everyone, both by the pool and at the beach. Meeting the staff was a big positive surprise. Most of them seem to be related in some way. Everyone was smiling and welcoming, and we soon felt like “part of the family”. There were a lot of returning guests, who gladly shared their experiences and gave good advice. As we are also returning guests to Samui, we were able to return the favor.

I did my workouts early in the morning - 3 times a week - at a nearby gym, Replay. Well-equipped but very dirty. Got good use of my Dettol wipes ! I also recommend bringing your own mat if you need one as the ones they had at the gym were quite disgusting. Khun Darling drove me back and forth at a very reasonable fare. The day after my workouts I had my massage by Khun Nong at the hotel. She is fabulous and the massages quite addictive ! I´d like to thank ALL the staff, the owners Sue & Robin, - and especially Khun Carol and Khun Wi, who went out of their way to make us happy. And of course Khun Cooking who was very patient with Mom´s “no spicy” orders :D

We visited all our favorite restaurants in Fishermans Village several times, like Café 69 (with our wonderful old friend Chef Vivian), Link Cuisine, Coco Tams Peppina (and our friend Chef Robi), The Shack and a new acquaintance, The Red Moon. All in short walking distance. Places we will return to for our next visit.

We stayed for 3 weeks late January/February 2018 and enjoyed every single moment ! We are in the process of planning our next Samui trip same time next year and will most certainly stay at The Waterfront. We are looking forward to seeing all our newfound friends again. Both staff and returning guests. We will be part of the “February crowd” :D

Thank you very much for your splendid and detailed review. We are delighted that you have booked again for next year. After you have stayed on Samui a lot it was great that you enjoyed your new location.
Thank you your very kind comments about our rooms and about our staff, they always are that much better when we have charming guests, luckily the vast majority are. Pleased you liked our pool and that you felt so at home. It is quite amazing that recently we had a guest with the same room found a lot of faults.
We look forward to seeing you both again next year.

We stayed at Waterfront for a big family get together. There were 8 adults and 7 children of all ages coming together from the UK and Australia and this place suited our needs perfectly. Robin and Sue the owners as well as all the staff were so welcoming and really couldn’t do enough for us. The air conditioning in our room wasn’t working properly at one point and it was sorted out immediately for us. The rooms were clean and spacious with lovely sea views. Some of the rooms are literally on the beach. Breakfast was served at tables practically on the beach and the bar was also here next to the pool. we loved it here and will be recommending. We would love to return here at some point. The location was great, close to plenty of restaurants and shops and only 15 mins to the airport.

My partner and I spent a week at this beautiful hotel and could not have asked for a single thing more. Beautiful surrounds, staff are superb and the location couldn't be any better. Recommend The Waterfront to young couples looking for a quiet holiday that is on the doorstep of Bo Phut's Walking Street, with all the restaurants, bars, massage and market stalls one could require just one minutes walk away.

Room Tip: Honeymoon suite has phenomenal view from bed.

We experienced a lovely welcome from Robin the owner, Carol the manager, and all the staff.
Loved the location for the Friday night walking market, with bars and music less than a stones throw away.
The room was clean and pleasant, breakfast was also good and served to us at the table.
This hotel seems very good for families with a nice pool, and baby sitting offered.
During our visit one very large group with children took over the pool for at least 6 hours every day, when I ducked in for a swim at 6.45pm I was deliberately bombed, and splashed by the children.
the following morning, they took over the pool area again for a private photoshoot.
Great that they were all enjoying themselves as guests, and nothing to do with the staff or quality of the hospitality offered, but we were happy to pack up and move to a less hectic place.
I'd guess our trip coincided with European school holidays.
We had a small problem with the DVD player in our room, and it was fixed immediately.
Nothing seemed too much trouble for the staff, and they were always cheerful and happy to help us.
We loved the Waterfront's library shelves offering books and DVDs,
and the wonderful local street food.
Also this hotel had the best information manual we have ever seen anywhere.
All in all it's a great place, and we would be happy to return in the future.

We give this hotel 5* for it’s warm, friendly and very helpful owners and staff. Also for its location in the picturesque village of Bophut and it’s value for money. We spent a pleasant 4 nights in one of the simple but perfectly comfortable and clean bungalow with a sea view. The beach is a small sandy stretch with palm trees , the sea is shallow and calm so nice for a swim but they also have a great pool which is clean and a good size.
If ever we return to Koh Samui we would happily stay at the waterfront again.
