For the price paid (SGD320 per night), it was definitely not worth the stay. It was more like an inn than a hotel. I could have stayed at a better one nearby if I knew this was the type of room I am getting.

Reviews were good online and it was just a 3 mins walk from where our friend's accommodation were, that's why we decided to book this place. Nothing, but regrets.

The bed were so bad we could feel the coil spring, my husband and I ended up sharing 1 of the twin bed that were combined together. The room was so dusty that i developed very bad rashes. I went to the reception and showed them the conditions and they didn't even bother to offer to change my room. PS: They knew we were there for our honeymoon.

Requested for cleaning and changed of sheets but it was not done as I purposely marked it so that I will know if the sheet was changed. Feedback to the reception and they came up to the room to change the sheets and vacuum the room.

I gave this one star for the help they rendered before I got this hotel booked and i appreciated it.

I would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel, because, for the price, you can stay at a better one nearby.

Had the opportunity to visit Hakuba during a business trip to Japan and stayed at the Shakespeare. The Hotel has a great location in Echoland with Restaurants and Bars within walking distance. Olivia and the staff made as feel very welcome and really went above and beyond. It was early ski season so the Hakuba shuttle bus was not in operation but Shakespeare stepped in and took us to and from the slops over three days. Thanks from both of us and we will for sure be back if the opportunity is given.

What a great find!
I can’t say enough about the service at this hotel.
At first I was a bit upset because I personally thought the bed was too hard. I know different people like different mattress so I figured I was stuck with it for the length of our stay.

As soon as Olivia the Manager heard I was not comfortable she went WAY above and beyond to make sure I got a good nights sleep on a comfortable mattress. She personally went out and bought a memory foam mattress topper and two pillows to go with it. She was SO sweet and accommodating.
As we got to know the area a little bit I realized we are surrounded with excellent restaurants, massage, ski rental places, bars and convenience stores all less that a few 100 meters away.
We particularly enjoyed a sushi place with a women sushi chef called West Mountain.
I also LOVED the hot pot of coffee on in the lobby all day long. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the heat was great.
The bathrooms are a little strange but clean.
Thank you Olivia for treating us like we were visiting your home!

Came here with a friend on a brief ski trip to Hakuba. All the staff were very polite and helpful. Checked in straight away. We stayed in the annex building which is in the back on the side. The rooms aren't modern but were still great, very very spacious (could fit ski gear inside easily without being in the way). The room was very clean and comfortable. Great location, close to ski gear rental stores, plenty of places to eat nearby, the shuttle station for the mountains was only a 2 minute walk away. Definitely would recommend to stay here, Hakuba was the highlight of the trip.

Room tip: Rooms in the Annex building are quite spacious

I stayed for 3 nights at the Shakespeare Hotel in January 2019, and skiied both Hakuba 47 and Happo while there. The Shapespeare had everything we needed. The rooms were nice and neat, the staff was very friendly, and you can’t beat the location. It’s central to the town, very close to the bus depot where you can get rides to the various ski resorts, and there are lots of restaurants and bars on the same street. They even have pick-up and drop-off services arranged with some of the ski rental places, which makes it so easy. Great pow pow on the mountains too. I highly recommend it!
