I’m not sure where to start to be honest. Way over priced. Sewage issues, staff attending our room late at night to try and fix. Kids disturbed. Drivers are nice enough, however when asked to drive us to somewhere slightly out of their circumference, with a baby, they are not willing to oblige. Overall this place is and has been the worst place we have stayed in our 3 visits over the years in Japan.

we had the large turret room at the front of the building .
it was very clean and roomy for some reason it had 2 large single beds but we just pushed them together and within a day the staff had changed the sheets etc to a large double . its a very spacious room unlike many in japan . very large bathroom with excellent toiletries provided . the staff were all loverly and work very hard to make your stay as comfortable as possible . its a good location in the wadano forest . a short walk maybe 200m to the sakka chairlift and able to ski back down the same track to the hotel . a good drying room was provided for guests gear . theres some very good restraunts nearby within and easy walk there maybe harder on the way back due to a full belly . id recommend café 3301 opposite the rabbit hole for an excellent Columbian coffee or evening meal . la neiges beautiful style is very comfortable and easy to feel at home .. overall the mostly English speaking staff did an excellent job of helping us with any questions . we will be back

We came for a ski trip, and this place blew away all our expectations. The dining was world class... great french food with views of a snowcovered forest. If you're lucky, you'll see little foxes playing in the snow outside. The morning buffets were the perfect start to the day, filled with all the foods we were looking for before getting on the slopes. This little place is a hideaway of absolute quality in the mountains of japan. Loved it.

This is the second time we have stayed here whilst skiing in Japan. It is a lovely family run hotel with the owners always going the extra mile if you need something. It is located within walking distance of the happo one station and you can ski home from there. It is also very close to the free shuttle bus stop if you want to go to any of the other ski fields of which there are plenty. Several lovely quaint Japanese restaurants within walking distance for dinner. Great place to stay.

Room tip: We were in room 202 which had a separate sitting area giving you plenty of space and a spa bath, great when coming in from skiing all day.

We stayed at Hotel La Neige Honkan for 7 nights. The hotel building itself is picturesque set amongst the snow and the surrounding trees, with inside taking after an old European lodge. Adds a feeling of luxury to the place. Practicality wise the hotel has everything needed for ski accommodation- a ski room to store gear, cosy rooms - with spa baths and a replenishing supply of baths salts, and extremely nice and helpful staff. There is also a maintained track leading from the back of the hotel to the Sakka slope lifts on Happo one, probably a 250-300m walk which with ski gear is tiring but very manageable. There is a shuttle bus stop just down the road from the hotel making use of the free shuttle services to other areas of hakuba and other ski resorts easy. The included breakfast consisted of modest hot plate of food, which you can top up with a variety of pastries and toast.
We nearly missed our snow monkey tour due to the tour company neglecting to tell us the second bus was not running that day, so the hotel staff were able to get us in a car and drop us off at another pick up point to meet the first bus within 5 minutes. Really enjoyed our stay here!
