This was out first trip to Hakuba, and this hotel was lovely. We had a slight issue with my booking and child, but it was resolved quickly.
The rooms were big and the view was beautiful, the beds were comfortable.
The buffet breakfast was ok, I feel they could have had a few more western varieties. I found it to be only a few options to pick from and the same to 10 days got a little much towards the end.
Overall the hotel was in a quiet area and beautiful surroundings.

This hotel is far from the town center so there are hardly any restaurants that are close to the hotel. Hotel breakfast is decent. Rooms size is okay but decor is dated and needs some sprucing up.
But what the hotel lacks in some aspects, it compensates in other areas such as the efficient/friendly staff, Complementary pick up and drop off, and a convenient pickup/stop right in front for the hotel for the public shuttle to the ski slopes. It's along the start of the route so you get good seats before it gets crowded.
For those skiing, the site has it's own rental shop.
This hotel is fantastic although the location is a bit far from other center of attraction.
We love:
1. The complementary pick up and drop off. Just give the hotel a heads up.
2. The room view was like a post card.
3. Onsen
4. Breakfast and Dinner were fabulous.
5. Bus stop at the entrance of the hotel that ply the route to ski area.
6. Staff very attentive..answered all our queries diligently and was able to assist when my wife sprained her leg while skiing. They even call us up when we were just slightly late for our breakfast timing.
7. Lobby decor was very cosy
Things to improve:
2 pillows instead of 1 would be ideal
We will definitely stay this hotel again if we return.
The staff at Hotel Hakuba could not do enough to help us, they were all so helpful and polite and made us feel very welcome.
We were able to call the hotel at the train station and someone picked us up. There is no pay phone at the train station, but my friend had international roaming so it was ok. The website said there would be no internet in the rooms - but there was easy to connect to and fast WiFi in the entire hotel including the rooms.
The rooms were a good size, well appointed. The Onsen baths were beautiful - the perfect way to end the day on the slopes.
It is about a 1km easy walk to a shop, it’s not in the middle of the village, but it’s not too far. There is a free shuttle service to all the ski fields in the area so that’s brilliant.
We loved it here and would come back.
The rooms are quite dated and the food limited but the staff are excellent and the onsens lovely. It was very convenient as there is ski equipment hire on site and bus routes all stop here. They also offer free transfers to the train station. We would stay again.
Stayed for 4days for skiing at Hakuba Happo Ohne in March 11th week. Before arrival. a bit concerned about the distance to ski courses. But found that a round mini-bus from / to the Hotel very reliable and convenient. Foods were good and local beer excellent. Onsen enjoyable as well. Service of the Hotel staff impressive.
Needless to say, Happo Ohne the best ski slope in Japan!!!
